BJP will never implement Uniform Civil Code in Gujarat, alleges AAP

The BJP will never implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Gujarat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Saturday, dubbing the saffron party's poll promise as "fake". The reaction of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party came after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto for the Gujarat Assembly polls, promising the implementation of a UCC in the state if it retains power. "The BJP has ruled Gujarat for 27 years. MCD polls: BJP has maximum millionaire candidates, claims ADR report

The BJP has the highest number of millionaire candidates in the fray for the December 4 Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls, followed by the AAP and the Congress, according to a report by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). Of the top three richest candidates, two from the BJP and one from the AAP. Three candidates from the AAP have the highest amount of liabilities while two independent candidates have declared zero assets. Another independent candidate, a Congress nominee and a BSP candidate have the lowest assets, the report said. It said 162 (65 per cent) out of the 249 candidates analysed from the BJP, 148 (60 per cent) out of 248 from the AAP and 107 (44 per cent) out of 245 candidates analysed from the Congress have declared assets valued more than Rs 1 crore. MCD polls: Delhi BJP woos slum dwellers with trip to EWS flats in Kalkaji

With hardly a week to go for MCD polls, Delhi BJP has planned a mega visit of around 10,000 slum dwellers to EWS flats in Kalkaji, on Sunday, party leaders said. Recently, a total 3,024 economically weaker section flats were alloted to the slum dwellers of Bhoomiheen camp under in situ slum rehabilitation scheme of Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had handed over keys of the flats to some of the beneficiaries in a function held at Vigyan Bhawan. Union minister Piyush Goyal on Friday released the BJP's party manifesto 'Sankalp Patra' for Delhi MCD polls which includes bringing all services online and 100 per cent garbage processing. Reading out the 12-point manifesto, Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta said all services of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be brought online through a mobile application within 100 days.
