Lucknow (UP), May 10 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on May 10 held a COVID-19 review meeting with chairpersons of 11 committees. UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi was also present in the meeting. UP government is taking every measure to curb the spread of COVID-19. UP has recorded 3373 confirmed cases and 74 deaths till now due to COVID-19.
Kochi (Kerala), May 10 (ANI): INS Jalashwa arrived at Kochi Harbour on May 10 bringing back 698 Indian nationals from Maldives's Male. According to the Indian Navy, there are 19 pregnant women among the 698 Indian nationals. The evacuation is part of Indian government's program to evacuate Indians stranded abroad. The programme named 'Samudra Setu' by Indian Navy entails to bring back around two thousand Indians in ships from Maldives.
Bengaluru, May 10 (ANI): Migrant workers from Bihar on May 10 registered themselves for a 'Shramik Special Train' at Yelahanka police station in Bengaluru. Indian Railways on May 1 started Shramik Special trains to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and others stranded at different places due to lockdown.
Washington DC (USA), May 10 (ANI): Indian nationals at the San Francisco airport to board the repatriation flight under Vande Bharat Mission on May 9. This is the first repatriation flight for Indians from the United States. Giving information of the flight, Indian Ambassador to US Taranjit Singh Sandhu said, "The first flight will take off from San Francisco in a little while and then we are going to have 7 flights from 4 different hubs. These are all Air India hubs, and these flights are going to different cities of India."
Washington DC (USA), May 10 (ANI): Indian Ambassador to United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu on May 10 informed that around 25,000 Indians have registered with the country's mission in the US for repatriation flights. He said, "A total of 25,000 people registered in the first week. We're going to take 7 flights, this will be a continuous work in progress, depending on requirement and where the people wish to go in India, and what the local situation allows."
Washington DC (USA), May 10 (ANI): Indian Ambassador to United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu on May 10 said that there are at least three vaccines on which Indian and US companies are working together for the COVID-19. He said, "ICMR and CDC-NIH (of US) have been collaborating for a number of years, in fact about 2-3 years back, we developed a vaccine together for another virus called rotavirus, it has helped not only in India but also in US and many other countries." "There at least 3 vaccines on which Indian and US companies are working together. Besides that, we are an important part of the supply chain and this particular crisis has certainly shown to US, if not the world over that India is a reliable partner," Singh added.
Hyderabad (Telangana)/ Kuwait, May 10 (ANI): India has continued to repatriate its people from aboard on the third day also. On May 09, an Air India flight brought back 163 Indians to Hyderabad from Kuwait under 'Vande Bharat Mission'. Indian ambassador in Kuwait, K Jeeva Sagar said, "Vande Bharat Mission has taken off very, we are looking forward for its success." The Vande Bharat Mission started on May 07 to bring back Indian nationals from aboard.
London (United Kingdom), May 09 (ANI): India citizens arrived at airport in London on May 9 to come back home. Air India's first evacuation flight from London will be taking off for Mumbai today. Screening of passengers is underway at the airport. 'Vande Bharat Mission' has been launched to bring back stranded Indians from across the world.
Male (Maldives), May 09 (ANI): Indian Navy Ship 'Jalashwa' has set sail from Male to bring back 698 stranded Indian nationals in Maldives amid the coronavirus lockdown. According to the Indian Navy, there are 19 pregnant women among the 698 Indian nationals being brought back from Maldives. This includes 595 males and 103 females on board the ship. According to the sources total number of 1800-2000 Indians will be evacuated from the Maldives by INS Jalashwa and INS Magar. Priority will be given to compelling cases such as medical, senior citizens, family emergencies and jobless.
Male (Maldives), May 08 (ANI): The first batch of Indian nationals who will be brought back from the Maldives under operation Samudra Setu, boarded INS Jalashwa on May 08. Passengers were screened and IDs were issued to them. Indian government has launched operation Samudra Setu to bring back stranded Indians from abroad with the help of Indian Navy.

Male (Maldives), May 08 (ANI): High Commission officials and volunteers were seen in full protective gear to discharge their duties in a safe and orderly manner for evacuation of Indians from Maldives under Operation Samudra Setu. Indian nationals arrived at the Ferry Terminal in Male to go through necessary checks and procedures as they prepare for evacuation by INS Jalashwa. The Navy has deployed ships for Operation Samudra Setu, which is part of the bigger 'Vande Bharat Mission'. Apart from the Navy ships, national carrier Air India is also operating repatriation flights in the first week of Vande Bharat Mission which started on May 7 to bring back thousands of Indian nationals stranded abroad.
Dhaka (Bangladesh), May 08 (ANI): Stranded Indians are being brought back under Operation Vande Bharat. 167 stranded people from Srinagar are being brought home by Air India flight from Bangladesh today. The stranded medical students from J and K, who got stuck in Dhaka amid COVID-19 spread, expressed gratitude to Indian Government and Indian Embassy in Bangladesh.

New Delhi, May 01 (ANI): The Health Ministry on May 01 informed that a total of 1,993 COVID-19 positive cases were reported in last 24 hours across the country, taking the tally of confirmed coronavirus cases to 35,043. Chandigarh, May 01 (ANI): Health Minister of Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu has blamed Maharashtra government for negligence in not ensuring proper quarantining of the pilgrims who returned to Punjab and at least 23 of them have tested positive for coronavirus. While talking to ANI, Balbir Singh Sidhu said, "They were under Maharashtra government"s observation. It was their duty to implement centre"s guidelines; their samplings and tests should have been done there. Had they told us it hasn"t been done, we would"ve sent 2 teams there." We would have kept the people who tested positive in isolation and the others in quarantine," Balbir Singh Sidhu further said.
