Avaada Energy gets 421 MW solar project from Damodar Valley Corporation

Renewable energy company Avaada Energy on Friday said it has bagged a 421 MW solar project from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The project was awarded through a competitive bidding followed by an e-reverse auction in which Avaada emerged as the winner with a quoted tariff of Rs 2.70/kWh. In a statement, Avaada said "it has won the 421 MW (DC) ISTS-connected Solar PV bid in an auction conducted by REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) on behalf of DVC." As per bid terms, a power purchase agreement will be inked between the two entities for 25 years, and the project will be commissioned within 18 months. The plant is expected to generate about 750 million units green energy annually which will reduce 6,98,250 tonne CO2 equivalent emissions. The solar project can potentially power 5 lakh households. Inox Air ropes in TP Saurya Bandita to set up 40 MW captive solar plant

INOX Air Products on Tuesday said it has signed an agreement with TP Saurya Bandita Ltd to set up a 40 MW captive solar plant at Dhule in Maharashtra. TP Saurya Bandita is a special-purpose vehicle of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL). In a statement, INOX Air Products (INOXAP) said, "The power project with a capacity of 40MWp, would cater to the energy needs of the air separation units operated by INOXAP in Maharashtra." Once commissioned, the plant will help INOXAP reduce 48,000 tonnes carbon emissions on an annual basis. This project is in line with INOXP's long-term strategy to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, lower the carbon footprint to manufacture green medical and industrial gases, it said. INOXP did not disclose the order value. According to industry estimates, an investment of about Rs 5 crore is required to set up 1 MW of solar capacity.

Amplus Solar to invest Rs 1,500-cr in Andhra to set green hydrogen plants

Amplus Solar on Tuesday said it aims to set up 7.5 KPTA-distributed green hydrogen plants in Andhra Pradesh with an estimated investment of Rs 1,500 crore. To materialise its plans, the company has also entered into an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up various distributed green hydrogen plants in the state, Amplus Solar said in a statement. The company aims to set up 7.5 KPTA (kilo tonne per annum)-distributed green hydrogen plants for industrial consumption in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore. It has also entered into an agreement with the state government to set up multiple decentralised green hydrogen. NHLML, Jodhpur Discom to set up 11 solar power plants on expressways

The National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and Jodhpur Discom have signed an agreement to set up 11 solar power plants at six places in a section of the Amritsar-Bhatinda-Jamnagar Expressway passing through Rajasthan. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between both the parties during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Usha Sharma here on Wednesday, according to a statement. Under this, 11 solar power plants will be developed on the Amritsar-Bhatinda-Jamnagar Expressway at a total of six places in three districts -- Hanumangarh, Bikaner and Jodhpur -- of the state. These power plants with a total capacity of 27.43 MW will be set up under Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana (PM Kusum). Adani Green commissions largest 600 MW wind-solar plant in Rajasthan

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Thursday said it has commissioned the world's largest wind-solar power plant of 600 MW capacity in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The plant has a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at Rs 2.69/kwh for 25 years, a company statement said. The project consists of 600 MW solar and 150 MW wind plants, it said adding it shall not only reduce intermittency of renewable energy power, but also help the country in optimal utilisation of transmission network. In May 2022, AGEL operationalised India's first hybrid power plant with a capacity of 390 MW in Jaisalmer. With the commissioning of the 600 MW plant, AGEL now has total operational generation capacity of 6.7 GW, including operational hybrid power generation capacity of 1 GW, the largest in the world, it said. Sterling & Wilson wins $1.5-billion solar plants order from Nigerian govt

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy has bagged a reported USD 1.5-billion order from the government of Nigeria, along with its consortium partner Sun Africa, for setting up solar PV power plants. The order will be executed through Sterling & Wilson's US step down subsidiary Sterling & Wilson Solar Solutions Inc, the Reliance Industries-controlled company said in a statement on Friday without disclosing the order value. However, a source told PTI that this is a huge order valuing at USD 1.5 billion to build five 961 mw solar plants. The order involves development, design, construction and commissioning of solar PV power plants aggregating 961 mw at five locations along with battery energy storage systems with total installed capacity of 455 mw, the company said, adding these projects will be owned and operated by Niger Delta Power Holding Company, a Nigerian government entity.
