Tata Power Solar gets Rs 386-crore PV plant project in Ladakh

Tata Power Solar Systems has been awarded a project to build a solar PV plant with 50MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Leh, Ladakh. The 50MW solar PV plant will be built on EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) mode. According to a statement by Tata Power, the order value of the project is Rs 386 crore. The commercial operation is expected to start from March 2023. This will be India's first co-located large scale BESS solution as well as first large scale solar PV project in the Union Territory of Ladakh to be set up at a high altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level, it stated. With the addition of this project, the order pipeline of Tata Power Solar now stands at 4GWp with order value of Rs 12,414 crore. The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply & procurement, construction of solar photovoltaic grid connected power plant project and BESS on a turnkey basis along with ten years of operations and maintenance services. Cabinet approves MoU with Uzbekistan for cooperation in solar energy

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday gave ex-post facto approval to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between India and Uzbekistan for cooperation in the field of solar energy. "The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was apprised of signing of Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) between India and Uzbekistan for cooperation in the field of solar energy," an official statement said. According to statement, the main area of work under the MoU is to identify research/demonstration/pilot projects between the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, India and the International Solar Energy Institute (ISEI), Uzbekistan in the mutually identified areas. These areas are solar photovoltaic, storage technologies and transfer of technology. Based on mutual agreement, both parties would work for implementation and deployment of pilot projects in International Solar Alliance (ISA) member countries.

Adani Green Energy commissions 150 MW solar plant in Kutch, growth at 55%

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) arm Adani Solar Energy Kutchh One Ltd has commissioned a 150 MW solar plant in Kutchh, Gujarat. The company in a statement said that despite all the challenges of global pandemic COVID-19, unprecedented rain and flood in Kutchh, the team of experts made it possible to commission the project three months prior to its scheduled commissioning date. This plant has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) at Rs 2.67/kWh for a period of 25 years. With this commissioning, AGEL's total operational renewable capacity grows to 3,125 MW. AGEL has total renewable capacity of 14,795 MW, including 11,670 MW awarded and under implementation projects.
