The BJP on Thursday launched a fresh salvo on Rahul Gandhi for his democracy remark, with Union Law Minister and party leader Kiren Rijiju alleging that the Congress leader was speaking the language of anti-India forces and a "gang" which had conspired to defame India. Addressing a press conference here, Rijiju said people will question law makers if they don't condemn the act of a fellow MP and seek his apology on the floor of the House for the comments in London. "We speak in the interest of the public, but all the anti-India forces and gang have the same language and line. The language spoken by Rahul Gandhi is the same language spoken by those working against India, conspired against India. He will have to apologise in Parliament. It is our duty to seek his apology," he said. Responding to a question, the minister said if the Congress party feels there is nothing wrong in what he says then it does not deserve to represent the section of people in Parliament. Lok Sabha adjourned for the day over Rahul Gandhi's democracy remark

In the last nine years, Modi ji has kept India in 'bhram (misled)' and Adani in 'vishwa bhraman (global travel)' along with him," Gandhi alleged in a video in Hindi. Asked about Congress' allegations, Union minister Giriraj Singh said, "Adani had made it clear that the first break was given to him was given by (Congress CM) Chimanbhai Patel...the second break was given by Rajiv Gandhi. Accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of abusing Indians and the Parliament, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said he visits Karnataka for 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', and while in London, speaks about 'Bharat Todo' (dividing India). LS speaker must take action against Rahul for London remarks: Giriraj Singh

Union minister Giriraj Singh on Monday sought action against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for his recent comments in London that microphones in the Indian Parliament are often silenced against the opposition. Singh alleged that Gandhi spoke like the "tukde-tukde gang" during his visit to the UK. "He has spoken so much in Parliament, but in London he said he is not allowed to speak, the mic is switched off. I think this is an attack on democracy and insult to Lok Sabha and the country," Singh told reporters outside Parliament House. Last week, Gandhi told British parliamentarians that functioning microphones in the Lok Sabha are often silenced against the Opposition. "Our mikes are not out of order, they are functioning, but you still can't switch them on. That's happened to me a number of times while I am speaking, the Congress leader said. Singh called Gandhi's remarks "utter lies". "The Lok Sabha speaker should take action against it. These state

PM Modi attacks Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on democracy in Karnataka

In poll-bound Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday tore into the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, charging the opposition party and its allies with being "busy digging my grave," and lashed out at the Wayanad MP for his comments on democracy in the country as an affront to its people. In his sixth visit to the southern state this year, Modi seemed to have given a fresh momentum to the ruling BJP's bid for a successive term, even as rival Congress has been mounting an aggressive attack over its saffron opponent on issues including corruption. Assembly elections are due by May and Modi addressed two public meetings -- in Mandya in the Vokkaliga heartland of Old Mysuru region and Dharwad in north Karnataka, where politically-influential Lingayat community holds the key to electoral fortunes. In all, the Prime Minister dedicated and laid the foundation stones of projects worth around Rs 16,000 crore, including the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway. The Rs 8,480 crore ...

Some people trying to defame country: UP CM on Rahul's remarks in London

In a veiled attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks in London, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said when India's dominance on global platforms is growing, some people are criticising the country on foreign land. Those who are criticising Indian democracy today are the same people who left no stone unturned to strangle democracy itself when they were given a chance, Adityanath said without taking any name. Addressing an event in Gorakhpur, he added that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making the country famous in the world, some people are "trying to defame" the country. The chief minister said these people criticise the country when they are abroad, and when they are home, they criticise Uttar Pradesh while they are in Kerala and Kerala when they are in Delhi. The CM said that such people who wish to weaken the strong democracy of the country and whose family's legacy has been that of the politics of "divide and rule" should be ..
