Honda Motorcycle Scooter India's sales rise 15% to 443,643 units in July

Honda Motorcycle Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday said its total vehicle sales were up by 15 per cent at 4,43,643 units in July. The same stood at 3,84,920 units in the year-ago period. Domestic sales grew 18 per cent to 4,02,701 units in the previous month compared to 3,40,420 vehicles sold in July 2021, the company said in a statement. The exports, however, declined 8 per cent at 40,942 units in the last month, it stated. HMSI Managing Director, CEO and President, Atsushi Ogata said that factors such as good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility has translated well to rise in customer walk-ins and enquiries. With the coming festive season, the company expects to regain the growth momentum at a faster rate, Ogata added.

Honda reports 49% increase in domestic sales at 11,177 units in August

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Wednesday reported a 49 per cent increase in domestic sales at 11,177 units in August as compared with the same month last year. The company had sold 7,509 units in the domestic market in August 2020, HCIL said in a statement. Exports stood at 2,262 units last month as compared with 450 units in August 2020, it added. "Positive sales momentum and overall strong demand helped us to achieve good volumes with the onset of the festive season. The celebratory fervour which began with Onam in Southern India will extend to the rest of the markets as we move towards the peak of festivities," HCIL Senior Vice President and Director (Marketing & Sales) Rajesh Goel said. The company's best-seller model -- Amaze, which has been launched in its latest avatar last month, drove commendable sales volume with 6,591 units and reinforced its position as the most preferred family sedan in India, he added. Honda Cars reports 12% rise in domestic sales at 6,055 units in Jul

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Sunday reported a 12 year-on-year rise in domestic sales at 6,055 units for July. The company had sold 5,383 units in the domestic market during July 2020, HCIL said in a statement. Exports stood at 918 units last month, it added. "We achieved our production ramp-up from last week of July and have streamlined supplies in line with market activity. Barring few locations, dealer outlets were mostly operational last month, albeit with lesser capacity," HCIL Senior Vice-President and Director (Marketing & Sales) Rajesh Goel noted. He added that the market sentiment has improved amid prevailing lower coronavirus infection rate. "We expect the upcoming festive period will help the industry to maintain this momentum." However, the company will keep a closer watch on the challenges related to the pandemic and rising cost of acquisition of cars due to price hike from this month, he added.

Honda India sales decline 2% in August, exports stand at 15,738 units

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday reported 2 per cent decline in its total sales at 4,43,969 units in August. The company had sold a total of 4,52,551 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales last month stood at 4,28,231 units as against 4,25,664 units, a growth of 1 per cent, it said adding this was the first time in the ongoing fiscal that its domestic sales breached the 4 lakh units mark. Exports during the month stood at 15,738 units as against 26,887 units in August last year. Commenting on the sales performance, HMSI Director Sales & Marketing, Yadvinder Singh Guleria said,"In August, over 90 per cent of our network is back to business and we are seeing some green shoots with higher customer enquiries." New capacity helps HMSI achieve record sales in festive season

The second largest two-wheeler maker Honda today reported a little over five per cent dip in the October sales at 4,66,535 units, but set a new record in festive sales with cumulative sales for the September-October period zipping past 13.5 lakh-mark. "Increased demand saw our retails cross the 13.50-lakh mark in the two festive months of September and October. With this, we have broken our own 2016 festival retail high by significant 1 lakh units," Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said in a statement. During the festive season in 2016, the Japanese major had sold 12.5 lakh units, the company said, and attributed the better numbers to the increased capacity, which saw its daily capacity by 50,000 units from the third assembly line in Bengaluru.
