The NGT was hearing a petition claiming the project proponent (PP) was violating the conditions of the Central Ground Water Authority's (CGWA's) no objection certificate (NOC) specifying the quantity of groundwater to be extracted and that the CGWA had already categorised the area as 'over exploited'. E-auction of gifts received by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar have fetched nearly Rs 1.15 crore and the amount will be deposited in CM's Relief Fund, according to an official statement on Sunday. The gifts auctioned included a 3D model of the chief minister that fetched Rs 21 lakh, a sculpture of Arjun's chariot for Rs 6.41 lakh, a Kamakhya temple sculpture for Rs 5.80 lakh and Ram Janmabhoomi temple model for Rs 1.75 lakh, it said. A total of 51 gifts put up for auction by the government through Uphaar Portal have fetched nearly Rs 1.15 crore, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Amit Agrawal said. After inaugurating three projects worth Rs 39.70 crore in Ballabhgarh, he said that because of the government's investment-friendly policies, Haryana is drawing investments, both domestic and foreign. "During the eight years of our government, we have gifted new projects to every assembly constituency of the state without any discrimination," he said. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the 'Prati Boond-Adhik Fasal' scheme started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought focus on increasing water-use efficiency in farming, adding that micro irrigation led to a 52-per cent increase in the state's fruit and vegetable yields. Khattar said various schemes are being run through the Micro Irrigation and Command Area Development Authority (MICADA) for water conservation and its judicious and economical use, according to a statement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the 'Prati Boond-Adhik Fasal' scheme, Khattar said, and added, "The focus is on increasing water-use efficiency at the farm level through micro-irrigation -- that is drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. "Micro-irrigation systems are invaluable for farming. With this, there is a considerable increase in the area irrigated from the same source of water." Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday announced a Rs 10 per quintal hike in sugarcane price, raising the crop's rate to Rs 372 a quintal. The new price will come into force from the current crushing season. Khattar said that safeguarding the interest of farmers is the utmost priority of the state government. "I urge the farmers that the prices have been hiked and now they should bring their sugarcane to the mills so the mills can run smoothly. Closure of sugar mills is neither in the interest of the farmers nor of the mills," he said. Crushing at sugar mills had recently come to a halt as protesting farmers had stopped supply of sugarcane by locking the main entrances of the fourteen mills in the state. Twelve lakh families have been added to the 'below poverty line' (BPL) category after Haryana government increased the annual income criteria for it, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Monday. Khattar also said that special camps would be organized at the district, block, and village levels to update the details of the families having the 'Parivar Pehchan Patra' (family ID card). He said that 'Parivar Pehchan Patra' (PPP) is the flagship scheme of the state government to ensure the reach of welfare schemes at the grassroot levels. The chief minister said that while taking care of the poor families, the state government had increased the annual income limit of BPL families from Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh. The Haryana Cabinet on Thursday approved a new AatmaNirbhar Textile Policy 2022-25, which aims to attract investment worth Rs 4,000 crore and generate 20,0000 new jobs in the state. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the council of ministers held under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar here, said an official statement. The new textile policy will supersede the previous Haryana Textile Policy 2019 and it aims to promote value-added textile activities with suitable policy interventions to harness the potential of the entire textile value chain in the state, it said.
