5.8 million metric tonne paddy procured, says Haryana Dy CM Chautala

Haryana's Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said 58.59 lakh metric tonne paddy has been procured in the state during the current season, exceeding the target of 57 lakh MT. Chautala said that nearly 98 per cent of farmers have already received their paddy purchase payment amounting to Rs 11,819 crore directly into their bank accounts through DBT within 48 hours after the crop being procured and the balance will also be cleared this week. The deputy chief minister -- who also holds the charge of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department -- said although the target given by the Centre was 57 lakh metric tonnes of paddy procurement for the current season, the state government procured 58.59 lakh metric tonnes till November 14, a day before procurement process is completed. Haryana govt will promote research for agricultural development: CM Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that with the changing nature of traditional farming, peasants can earn more income by adopting new technologies in the agriculture sector. With this objective, the government is taking concrete steps for promoting research in the agriculture sector, which will prove beneficial in the economic upliftment of the farmers, Khattar said. He was interacting with the farmers and agricultural experts after inaugurating Dhanuka Agritech Research and Technology Center at village Sihol in Palwal district, an official statement said here. The chief minister said that today two big projects are dedicated to Palwal district, of which one project is for water conservation and the other project will motivate the farmers towards farming with new technology. Haryana makes crop procurement payment to farmers within 48 hours: Dy CM

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Saturday said that 52 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in the state and Rs 10,000 crore has been paid to the farmers so far as the payments are being made within 48 hours. Chautala reiterated the state government's commitment towards ensuring the welfare of the farmers and said the payment of crop procurement to the farmers has been directly transferred to their accounts within 48 hours. Last year, the government had set a target of making the payment to the farmers within 72 hours, but this time going a step ahead, the payments have been made in just 48 hours, he said. Eradicating corruption is Haryana govt's utmost priority: CM Khattar

Eradicating corruption is the Haryana government's utmost priority and concrete steps have been taken in that direction, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Saturday. He was speaking at a function organised in his honour at Nayagaon village here. He said that eight years ago, when he took over, no one in the state could have thought corruption can be eradicated. "But today, 'Bhrashtachar ka Kaal, Manohar Lal (Manohar Lal is a slayer of corruption)' has become the slogan of the public," he said. Haryana to develop world's largest safari, park to cover 10,000 acres

Haryana will develop the world's largest jungle safari park in the Aravalli range, the state government said in a statement on Thursday. The 10,000-acre safari park will cover Gurugram and Nuh districts. "This project will be the largest such project in the world," it said. At present, Sharjah is home to the largest curated safari park outside Africa. Opened in February 2022, the Sharjah Safari covers an area of about 2,000 acres. "The proposed Aravalli park would be five times more this size and it would include a large herpetarium (a zoological exhibition space for reptiles and amphibians), aviary/bird park, four zones for big cats, a large area for herbivores, an area for exotic animal birds, an underwater world, nature trails, visitors, tourism zones, botanical gardens, biomes, equatorial, tropical, coastal, desert, etc," the government said in the statement. Haryana will write to Goa for recommending CBI into Sonali Phogat's death

The Haryana government will write to the Goa government requesting it to recommend a CBI probe into the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured her family members on Saturday. Family members of Phogat met Khattar at his residence here Saturday evening and requested for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into her death. Haryana CM Khattar launches 'smart e-beat' system for Gurugram police

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Monday launched an app-based system for police attendance and real time monitoring of patrolling by personnel in Gurugram. The CM launched the 'Smart E-Beat' system at an event at the office of Commissioner of Police here and flagged off 119 motorcycle police riders connected with it. Khattar said this app-based system has been introduced in Gurugram under the 'Smart Policing Initiative' (SPI) and it will help these policemen to mark their attendance, and in monitoring of their rides. This also means the beat system has been digitised, he said. Mowing down of DSP: Haryana Police arrest accused driver from Rajasthan

The Nuh police on Wednesday arrested the truck driver who had mowed down a Haryana DSP probing illegal mining. Sabbir, alias Mittar, the key accused in the case, was arrested from Rajasthan's Bharatpur district. He was arrested following the questioning of Ikkar, another accused in the case. "We arrested the main accused, Sabbir, alias Mittar, from the Pahari police station area of Bharatpur in Rajasthan. The accused, who is around 30 years of age, hails from Pachgaon. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that the state government is making the Backward Classes Commission afresh, bringing in fold the nomadic tribes. "After its formation, this commission will take care of all the problems of the community. It will be ensured that the people get benefits of all schemes through the commission," he said. Haryana govt approves state EV policy, announces sops to manufacturers

The Haryana government on Monday approved the State Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2022 offering several financial incentives to EV manufacturers. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The EV policy offers various financial incentives to EV manufacturers by giving incentives on fixed capital investment (FCI), net SGST, stamp duty, employment generation, etc, an official statement said. There is 100 per cent reimbursement of stamp duty along with exemption in electricity duty for a period of 20 years. The SGST reimbursement shall be 50 per cent of the applicable net SGST for a period of 10 years.
