Godrej Properties is expecting around Rs 3,000 crore sales revenue from development of a new housing project in Gurugram. In a regulatory filing, the company said it has "entered into an agreement for development of 14.27 acres of land in Gurugram, Haryana." The development will comprise predominantly premium residential apartments. The proposed development on 14.27-acre land will have an estimated revenue potential of about Rs 3,000 crore, it said. Godrej Properties is expanding aggressively to encash rise in housing demand. It is acquiring land outrightly and also entering into partnership with land owners to develop new projects. The Gurugram bench of the Haryana real estate regulatory authority (HRERA) has imposed penalties of Rs 25 lakh each on five builders after they failed to deliver their housing units to buyers on time. The regulator, however, allowed the realtors' RERA registration certificates to remain in force with new timelines for completion of their projects. As per the official statement, Identity Buildtech Private Limited has been fined for not completing its project Ansal Highland Park at Sector 103 within the declared timeline of June 2022. In this case, the authority has allowed the RERA registration to be in force till May 2024. Similarly, a penalty of Rs 25 lakh has been imposed on BPTP Limited for not completing its project Park Terra at Sector 37-D, Gurugram. The deadline for this project, which was April 2022 earlier, has been extended till April 24. Gangster Vikas Lagarpuria, the alleged mastermind of a multi-crore heist here last year and accused in cases of murder and extortion, has been arrested at Delhi airport, a special task force official said on Thursday. The arrest was in coordination with central agencies, the official added. The suspect hails from Lagarpur village in Haryana's Jhajjar district. He has several cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion and kidnapping lodged against him in Delhi and Haryana. Absconding for the past seven years, Lagarpuria had a red corner notice issued against him by the Delhi Police. The Haryana STF has been looking for him for the Rs 30 crore heist in Gurugram. Realty firm M3M India has acquired 1.3-acre land parcels in Gurugram for about Rs 200 crore to build a luxury commercial project, primarily retail space. The land, located near IFFCO Chowk, has been acquired through an auction conducted by Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). "The development cost would be Rs 250 crores. The estimated top line for this project is Rs 1,000 crore," the company said. The project will be a mix of retail space, multiplex and offices. The cost of the land is at par with the cost in Lutyens Delhi, the company said. Housing sales in Gurugram jumped more than three-fold on an annual basis to 24,482 units during January-September this year on higher demand for residential properties across all price categories -- affordable, mid-income and luxury, according to Anarock. Housing sales in Gurugram stood at 7,725 units in the year-ago period. Noida saw a 52 per cent increase in sales to 5,040 units in the first nine months of this year compared to 3,315 units in the corresponding period of the previous year, as per data compiled by Mumbai-headquartered property consultant Anarock. The District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum on Tuesday ordered the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to give interim compensation of Rs 2 lakh to a woman who was injured after being attacked by a pet dog in August. The forum also said if the MCG wants, this compensation amount can be recovered from the dog owner. On August 11, victim Munni, who works as a domestic help in the locality, was attacked by Vinit Chikara's dog while she was on her way to work with her sister-in-law. She had suffered critical injuries on her head and face and was referred from the civil hospital in Gurugram to Delhi's Safdarjung hospital. Three more people, who were hospitalised with severe burns in a firecrackers explosion at a home in Gurugram last week, have died, pushing the toll to six in the incident, police said on Friday. Five days ago, three people had succumbed to injuries in the explosion in the house in Nakhrola village. With this, all six injured in the October 12 explosion have died, police said. According to the police, Tanuj (14) and Vishnu Kant (40) succumbed on Friday morning at a hospital in Delhi while Satish (40) died on Wednesday night. Earlier, the house owner, Bhagwan Das alias Kala (40), his son Manish (20) and daughter Chhavi (10) died on October 16. Satish was a relative of Kala while Tanuj was his son.
