Covid-19: Delhi records one death, 27 new cases; positivity rate 0.05%

Delhi recorded one coronavirus-related death and 27 fresh cases with a positivity rate of 0.05 per cent on Saturday, according to data shared by the city health department. The number of cumulative cases stood at 14,40,834. Over 14.15 lakh patients have recovered from the infection. The death toll from the pandemic has now risen to 25,096 in Delhi. This is the fifth fatality due to coronavirus infection reported this month. Earlier, two deaths were recorded on November 12 and one each on November 14 and 15. The city reported four COVID-19 deaths in October and five in September. The case positivity rate stood at 0.05 per cent on Saturday, according to the latest health bulletin. On Friday, 23 cases were recorded with a positivity rate of 0.04 per cent On Thursday, 30 cases were recorded with a positivity rate of 0.05 per cent. Delhi's air quality improves to 'poor' category, AQI drops to 280

The air quality significantly improved from the "very poor" to the "poor" category on Wednesday for the first time in the last 10 days, as per the System of Air Quality & Weather Forecasting & Research (SAFAR).The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 280 today.Several areas in the national capital including ITO, Lodhi Road, and Mathura Road recorded air quality in "very poor" air with an AQI of 333, 303, and 346 while the AQI at Anand Vihar and Jahangirpuri were in the "severe" category with an AQI 422 and 436 respectively.As per the SAFAR, the PM 10 levels were recorded at 58 in the 'satisfactory' category and PM 2.5 levels were recorded at 38 in the 'satisfactory' category.The air pollution level in the National Capital Region (NCR) fluctuated between "very poor" and "poor". 'Triple engine' govt needed for development of Delhi: Piyush Goyal

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said a 'triple engine' government is needed in Delhi to enhance the development of the national capital by three times. He made these remarks while inaugurating the state BJP executive meeting here. "There will be (municipal) corporation elections next year and then the assembly polls.
