Rajasthan CM to release MSME policy today; to set up 20,000 new units

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will on Saturday launch the MSME Policy-2022 with a vision to set up 20,000 new MSME units with a total investment of Rs 10,000 crore and creating jobs for 1 lakh people. Gehlot will launch the new policy in presence of Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat and other dignitaries on the MSME Day. The policy proposes to give a relaxation of five years in approvals and inspections for setting up and promotion of the MSME units, an official statement said. In the 2019 policy, the relaxation period was three years, it said. In the last four years, over 37.33 lakh people have got jobs in the micro, small, and medium enterprises, or the MSME sector, and its contribution to the GDP has been estimated to be 24.50 per cent. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will release the state's first handicrafts policy and Rajasthan MSME Policy-2022 on Saturday on the occasion of MSME Day. The Rajasthan government has sanctioned Rs 37.75 crore for expansion work at 10 airstrips in the state. An official statement said Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the fund for various airstrip development works including boundary wall construction, campus wall construction and airstrip refurbishment. Of these, Rs 14 crore will be given for shifting the mega highway and Buddha Mandavar Road and construction of boundary wall for the Kolana (Jhalawar) airstrip, Rs 4 crore for increasing the height of the boundary wall of the Abu Road (Sirohi) airstrip and other works there. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday launched a scheme on the lines of the MGNREGA to provide 100 days of employment to families in urban areas. Calling the launching of the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme historic, Gehlot said any family that wants to increase their income at a time of high inflation could seek jobs under it. Rajasthan to launch 100-day urban employment guarantee scheme on Friday

The Rajasthan government will launch on Friday an ambitious scheme to provide 100 days of employment to needy families in urban areas on the lines of rural employment guarantee scheme MGNREGA. More than 2.25 lakh families have already registered for the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme which was proposed by chief minister Ashok Gehlot in the state budget this year. An official said the scheme to be launched on September 9 would cover works like environment protection, water and heritage conservation, garden maintenance, and removing encroachments, illegal sign boards, hoardings, banners etc. Sanitation, cleanliness and other such works will also be undertaken under the scheme, he said. "People from the age group of 18 to 60 are eligible for the scheme. Interested families will get 100 days of employment.
