Stock Market LIVE Updates today, Friday, July 25, 2025: Indian stock markets were trading significantly lower on Friday amid weakness in Bajaj twins -- Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv -- and other heavyweight stocks.
At 2 PM, the BSE Sensex was quoted at 81,589, down 595 points or 0.72 per cent, and the NSE Nifty50 at 24,874, down 188 points or 0.75 per cent.
Bajaj twins, PowerGrid, Tata Motors and Infosys were the top Sensex losers, bleeding up to 5 per cent.
Shriram Finance, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, IndusInd Bank, and Wipro were some of the other losers on the Nifty index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index fell 1.4 per cent, and the Nifty SmallCap index edged 1.9 per cent lower.
Among sectors, the Nifty Auto index slipped 1.31 per cent, followed by the Nifty Financial Services ndex (down 1.27 per cent) and Nifty Metal down 1.5 per cent. On the contrary, the Nifty Pharma bucked the weak trend to add 0.16 per cent
