Kathmandu (Nepal), Apr 23 (ANI): On April 22, India gifted 23 tonnes of essential medicines to Nepal to help in fight against coronavirus pandemic. Ambassador of India to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra handed over the consignment to Nepal's Minister for Health Bhanubhakta Dhakal. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in tweet thanked India for the support. The pandemic has infected over 40 people in the country so far.

Nangarhar, Aghanistan Apr 16 (ANI) : A cadre of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist outfit who was captured alive after an encounter by the Afghan security forces has revealed that he was given arms training in Pakistan for four months and sent to Afghanistan to carry out attacks.In a video shot by Afghan security forces, the undefined cadre revealed that he crossed over into Nangarhar province of Afghanistan in the Momand Dara area along with elements of the Taliban.
Fukushima, Japan (ANI) Apr 16,: With coming of spring, more than half a million people will not miss visiting one of the country's oldest Sakura trees. It is 1,000 years old, documented with ancient letters and drawing shows. This tree has its own name, Miharu Takizakura. The tree is located in Fukushima Prefecture and has also become a symbol of Japan's recovery from the earthquake and tsunami disaster. Takizakura literally means "waterfall cherry tree" in Japanese. A suitable name as the tree stands 12 meters tall, with wide drooping branches spanning 20 meters around the tree, making it appear like a waterfall of cherry blossom. This grand cherry blossom tree is surrounded with small shops that provide local foods and goods.
Glasgow (Scotland), April 15 (ANI): A political activist from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has alleged that Pakistan has been regularly violating ceasefire at the Line of Control these days to infiltrate terrorists into Kashmir valley amid COVID-19 spread. He says that Pakistan has upped violence along the border to hide its incompetence at handling Coronavirus spread and wants to divert people's attention. Amjad Ayub Mirza, a political activist and author based in Glasgow also said that It is Pakistan, which is responsible for ceasefire violation. We, the people of PoK are aware of this fact that always Pakistan initiates a ceasefire violation to which India retaliates. The activist said that like always, this time too, the ceasefire violation was started by Pakistan which created problems for locals, even in the areas of Jammu that do not even come in the jurisdiction of the ceasefire line.
Muzaffarabad (PoK), April 14 (ANI): Doctors and paramedic staff in PoK hospitals are protesting against the administration as they fear getting infected with Coronavirus due to the unavailability of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits. At Ambor hospital in Muzaffarabad, the doctors and other employees said they are being pushed towards death by the government as they have been working without safety kits. Pakistan occupied Kashmir has poor healthcare system and it is completely unprepared to tackle a situation like the COVID-19 outbreak. In many areas in PoK, neither doctors nor testing labs are available. Suspected coronavirus patients are roaming amid the rest of the population without being examined.
Karachi (Pakistan) April 13, 2020: A Hindu family in Karachi city of Pakistan was attacked by Maulvis or Muslim clerics and forced them to convert to Islam. Basant Kudar, a Hindu and his mother were also threatened to be killed if they disobeyed the order. Basant's brother narrated the whole incident in a video. A FIR has also been registered against the culprits. Minorities in Pakistan are facing persecution as they are regularly being threatened by the Muslims to convert to Islam.

New Delhi, Apr 11 (ANI): New coronavirus deaths in the United States surpassed 2,000 on the highest tally of fatalities recorded within a day so far. The total number of people, who have succumbed to the virus in the country, has now reached 18,545. Meanwhile, the tally of confirmed COVID-19 deaths has reached 100,000 worldwide. Keeping the surging cases of the contagion in view, President Donald Trump, during a White House press briefing, said that he will announce the members of a new taskforce made up of people from the medical and business communities to determine when and how to reopen the country on Tuesday.
Geneva (Switzerland), Apr 11 (ANI): After 52 days going without an infection, a new case of Ebola has reported in Democratic Republic of the Congo, just days ahead the epidemic was expected to be declared to be over in the African country by the World Health Organization (WHO), confirmed the world health body. "Response teams on the ground have confirmed a new case of Ebola in DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo). We have been preparing for and expecting more cases. Unfortunately this means the government of DRC will not be able to declare an end to the outbreak on Monday as hoped," said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO's Director-General.
Geneva (Switzerland), Apr 11 (ANI): The World Health Organization (WHO) on April 11 said the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) based tests for coronavirus are probably the most accurate of the lot among other tests being conducted to diagnose if a person is infected with COVID-19 or not. "Polymerase chain reaction based tests are probably the most accurate way to determine if someone is infected with COVID-19. Governments need to focus specifically on PCR based testing or any form of testing that detects active infection," said Dr. Michael J Ryan, WHO Executive Director for Health Emergencies Programme.

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who had tested positive for coronavirus last month, was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Monday, UK media reported. Johnson was admitted to a hospital in London on Sunday evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "'Hang in there, Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Hope to see you out of hospital and in perfect health very soon." UK has reported over 50,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus while more than 5000 have succumbed to the deadly virus.
Sindh (Pakistan), Apr 01 (ANI): Several members of Hindu and Christian communities said that they are being denied ration by authorities in Pakistan's Sindh Province amid coronavirus pandemic. They were denied ration by authorities because of their religion. While speaking to ANI, one of the Hindu locals said, "My son is a rickshaw-puller and he is running our family but the situation is getting worst here. It's been more than a week that we are sitting at our homes but the authorities haven't sent us any food item yet." "Authorities are not helping us during lockdown, ration is also not being provided to us because we are part of a minority community." he added. Adding to this, another Christian local said, "We are facing the inequality because we are from Christian community. We have lost all our source of earnings amid coronavirus outbreak." One more Christian local said, "Initially, authorities said everyone would get ration during lockdown but later they denied giving it to Christ
Karachi (Pakistan), Mar 30 (ANI): Amid COVID-19 outbreak, thousands of needy gathered at Rehrri Ghoth in Karachi to receive food supplies and daily essentials. However, those who belong to the Hindu community were told to go back since the rations were only meant for Muslims. Sindh government issued order to distribute ration in lockdown through local NGOs and administration to daily wage workers and labourers. The distribution of food supplies was organised by local government in collaboration with the district government. Hindus were told that they were not eligible for having food supplies since it was only meant for Muslims, informed activists. No screening arrangements were provided for nearly 3,000 people who had gathered to collect rations. Hindus in Lyari, Sachal Ghoth and other parts of Karachi as well as all over Sindh are being denied a share in government food. New Delhi, Mar 28 (ANI): Singapore postponed Shangri-La dialogue scheduled for June 5 to 7 in the backdrop of coronavirus outbreak. Shangri-La dialogue is a top-level regional security forum hosted by Singapore. The calling-off the event comes as countries around the world tighten their borders to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Singapore took the step of not allowing short-term visitors to enter or transit through the country from March 23, in a move to reduce the risk of importing COVID-19 cases. This marks the first time that the annual Shangri-La Dialogue has been called off since it was first launched in 2002. It is usually held in June at the Shangri-La Hotel.
Washington DC (USA), Mar 27 (ANI): President of the United States, Donald Trump raised eyebrows on figures released by China on Novel Coronavirus cases. President Trump while answering a media person on "cases in US surpassing China," said that he is not sure about numbers released by China. "I think it is a tribute to our testing, and you don't know what the numbers are in China. I think it is a tribute to testing, we are testing numbers of people. And I am sure you are not able to tell whether China is testing or not. I think that is a little hard," said President Trump.
