Savings accounts of over Rs 1 lakh will be linked to repo rate: SBI Chairman Rajnish Kumar

Mumbai, Mar 09 (ANI): While talking to the media, SBI Chairman Rajnish Kumar on Saturday said, "Savings accounts of over one lakh and above will be linked to the repo rate and all the working capital loan are theoretically are payable on demand, these loans will be continued to be linked with the Marginal Cost of funds based Lending rate (MCLR)". He also said there will be no specific relief to any account.

Our industry should work harder to pay more taxes for welfare of soldiers: Narayana Murthy

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): Co-Founder of Infosys NR Narayana Murthy stressed on welfare of soldiers of the country. While talking to ANI he said, "Our industry should work hard to make ourselves stronger and pay more taxes so that our soldiers have better ammunition, better salaries, nutrition and they can take care of their families better, I said this in 2014 also, not after Pulwama." He also said, "Most of the solutions or problems are within us. Therefore, I would work harder and would become more innovative."

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): While addressing the media in the national capital after the post-budget meeting of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Governor Shaktikanta Das said, "The ball lies in the court of the banks to implement and restructure the loans of the eligible MSMEs as per the rules and guidelines given in the MSME package announced on January 01, 2019".

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): While addressing the media in the national capital after the post-budget meeting of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, "Year after year, our experience of the last five years has been that there has been a reasonably high growth as far as revenues are concerned". He further added, "I think India needs fewer and megabanks which are strong because in every sense from borrowing rates to optimum utilisation the economies of scale as far as the banking sector is concerned are of great help".

Rose import in Nepal from India surges for Valentine's Week

Kathmandu (Nepal), Feb 10 (ANI): Valentine's Day is around the corner and demand for red roses has risen significantly in Nepal. Rose from India has gained popularity for its quality among youth in Nepal. According to Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN), about 160,000 stems of roses would be imported for 2019's Valentine's Day from India. Last year, Nepal imported rose worth Nepalese Rs 12.8 Million. This year import is expected to be even higher worth Nepalese Rs 15 Million.

January GST revenue collection crossed Rs 1 lakh crore

New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): The total gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collected in the month of January reached Rs 1, 02, 503 crore of which Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) stands at Rs 17, 763 crore. This year GST collection is 14 percent higher compared to the corresponding period last year, which was Rs. 89, 825 crore. The total collections for January are as follows: State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) stands at Rs 24, 826 crore while Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) was Rs 51, 225 crore (including Rs 24, 065 crore collected on imports). The Cess accounted for Rs 8, 690 crore which include Rs 902 crore collected from imports. The government has settled Rs 18, 344 crore to CGST and Rs 14, 677 crore to SGST from IGST as the regular settlement. It is worth noting that in the financial year 2018-2019, it is for the third time that GST Revenue collection has crossed Rs One Lakh Crore. Budget 2019: Piyush Goyal announces setting up of 'Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog' for animal husbandry and fisheries sector

New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday presented budget 2019 in the Parliament. While announcing the budget, Goyal announced an increase in funding and other manner of financial aid for those in the animal husbandry and Fishery sector. Describing the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog, he said, "The Aayog will also look after the effective implementation of laws and welfare schemes for cows. For Gowmata's honour and respect, this government will never bow out." Coming to the fisheries industry, Goyal announced a separate department for fisheries, "India is the second largest fish producing nation in the world, accounting for 6.3 per cent of global production. Registering an average annual growth of more than 7 per cent. The sector provides livelihood to about 1.45 crore people at the primary level. To provide sustained and focused attention towards the development of this sector, our government has decided to create a separate department of fisheries.''
