Himachal: Fresh snowfall in higher reaches

The higher reaches, including Kufri and Manali, of Himachal Pradesh witnessed a fresh bout of snowfall, while light rains occurred in other parts of the state on Monday. Kufri in Shimla district received 2.5 cm of snowfall, Manali in Kullu district got 3 cm, whereas Kalpa in Kinnaur district received 5 cm, the MeT centre at Shimla said. Several parts of the state including Shimla witnessed light rains, the weatherman said.

Delhites woke up to a pleasant and sunny Monday with the minimum temperature settling at 12.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, the meteorological office said. The weatherman has forecast partly cloudy sky, very light rain and thundershowers with strong surface later in the day. Yellow weather warning issued for snowfall, rain in HP

The meteorological department has issued a fresh yellow weather warning for snowfall, rain in Himachal Pradesh on March 11, an official said Sunday. The Shimla Met centre predicted rain and snowfall in the state from February 11 to 15 but issued yellow warning only for February 11. It stated that snowfall, rain is likely to occur in mid hills and thunderstorm accompanied with hail, gusty winds may take place in low hills, plains of the state on Monday. The Met office issues colour-coded warnings to alert the public ahead of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause "damage, widespread disruption and/or danger to life." Yellow is the least dangerous out of the weather warnings it indicates the possibility of severe weather over the next few days that could affect the public. It was a cool, bright Sunday morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature settling at 10.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average, the weather office said. The sky is likely to remain clear and the maximum temperature is expected to settle around 27 degrees Celsius. The humidity at 8.30 am was 73 per cent, said a MeT department official. Delhi: Air quality improves to 'Moderate'

Following light rain and thunderstorm, the air pollution level in the national capital settled in the 'Moderate' category on Sunday.The Air Quality Index was docking at 152 at 8:00 am in the morning. The minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 14 and 28-degree Celsius respectively. The relative humidity will oscillate between 80 per cent to 89 per cent."These rain activities were due to induced Cyclonic Circulation over western parts of Rajasthan and a trough was extending from this system up till northwest Uttar Pradesh. So, these weather activities were more prominent over northern parts of Delhi. Isolated rains were also observed over Safdarjung," said Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi and its surrounding regions are likely to witness light to moderate rain and thundershower activities with gusty strong winds to follow.Experts have further predicted that the pollution level might increase marginally .

The minimum temperature in Delhi was 11 degrees Celsius on Saturday, three notches below normal. The weather office has forecast mainly clear skies for the day. "The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.30 am at 11 degrees Celsius. The humidity level was 52 per cent," an official of the weather department said. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 26 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively, the official said. Minimum temperature in Delhi settles at 10 Degree Celsius

Chilly morning coupled with shallow fog was seen in Delhi on Thursday morning and according to the MeT department there is a possibility of development of lightning on Friday.The maximum and minimum temperatures were hovering at 26 degree Celsius and 10 Degree Celsius with humidity oscillating between 80 to 86 per cent, according to the India Meteorological Department.Due to chilly winds, the air quality index (AQI) of the national capital is in the "moderate category" as the presence of moisture has increased the air's capacity to hold particulate matter (PM) for a longer time.The overall AQI of Delhi was docking at 142 in the morning. At Dhirpur, the AQI was 120 at 8 am, while in Mathura Road area it dipped to the moderate category at 156. Chilly winds blow over Delhi-NCR

After several days of cloudy weather, the national capital on Wednesday had clear skies but chilly winds blew over Delhi and its adjoining areas with no rainfall. "The maximum temperature was recorded at 22.8 degrees Celsius, four notches below the normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 12 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal," they said.
