Honda Motorcycle reports 29% surge in total sales in February

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday reported a 29 per cent increase in total sales at 4,42,696 units in February. The company had sold a total 3,42,021 units in the same month last year, HMSI said in a statement. Domestic sales last month stood at 4,11,578 units as against 3,15,285 units in February 2020, a growth of 31 per cent, it added. "While the industry growth is expected to hover near the double digits in Q4 and upcoming Q1 due to the low base of BSVI transition, Honda continues to drive the 2Wheeler demand recovery for second straight month of 2021," HMSI Director (Sales and Marketing) Yadvinder Singh Guleria said. The company is confident of maintaining the positive sales momentum in coming months too, with three new models (CB350RS, 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports, Grazia sports edition) exciting the market, he added. The two-wheeler major said its exports grew 16 per cent last month to 31,118 units as compared with the year-ago period.

Honda makes global premiere of CB350RS bike; priced at Rs 1.96 lakh

Japanese auto major Honda on Tuesday made the global premiere of its mid-sized motorcycle, CB350RS, priced at Rs 1.96 lakh, which will go on sale in India from next month (ex-showroom pan India). The CB350RS is the second new introduction of Honda's CB family of motorcycles, which is 'Made in India for the World' after the H'ness CB350 bike which was launched last October. "Last year, Indian riders got a chance to experience 'made in India' CB brand and elevate their pride of fun riding. Today, we are excited to add another chapter to the CB series. "Exhibiting the true legacy of CB Brand, the CB350RS will add value for the Indian customer by providing contemporary style and superior stance, further enhancing the fun biking culture," Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) Managing Director, President & CEO Atsushi Ogata said in a virtual conference. TVS Motor Company launches new stop-and-go technology platform

TVS Motor Company on Tuesday introduced a new platform TVS intelliGO, a stop-and-go technology that switches off the engine during idling and long transient stops. The technology aims at providing comfortable, convenient and an environment-friendly ride experience to customers, the company said in a statement. It helps enhance mileage and reduce emissions by intelligently switching off engine during long idling. The technology makes its debut on the company's Jupiter, making it the first 110cc scooter to have this intelligent 'stop & go' technology, the company claimed.
