Trainer aircraft overturns at Thiruvananthapuram airport, pilot safe

A flight training aircraft for student pilots overturned at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport here on Wednesday, an airport official said. The pilot is safe, the official said. The incident occurred at 11.36 am when the training aircraft of the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, while taking off on a solo flight veered off from the runway and overturned.

Air India Express flight returns to Thiruvananthapuram after technical snag

An Air India Express flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Muscat, Oman returned shortly after take-off due to a technical glitch in its on-board computer system. The flight, IX 549, which took off from the state capital of Kerala at 8.30 AM returned to the international airport here at 9.17 AM after one of the pilots noticed the technical glitch. "All 105 passengers and the cabin crew are safe," an Air India Express spokesperson said. The airline is attempting to arrange another flight for the passengers and it's expected to take off from here at 1 PM, he said. All passengers are being well taken care of, he added.

The Adani Group has taken over the operation, management and development of the international airport in Thiruvananthapuram, saying it is now a Gateway to Goodness. Announcing the formal takeover of the airport, the business giant said in a tweet that it was privileged to serve and welcome passengers to God's Own Country.
