Mahindra XUV700 records 65,000 bookings in two weeks of the process

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Wednesday said the deliveries of its recently launched model XUV700 would begin from this month-end. The deliveries of petrol variants will start from October 30 while that of diesel trims from the last week of November. The company said it has garnered 65,000 bookings of XUV 700 in two weeks of commencing the process. The company had opened bookings of the model on October 7. M&M noted that it has partnered with one of the top-three global consulting companies to devise and implement an algorithm-based process for deliveries. "The objective is to streamline the delivery process for customers, based on a combination of parameters which include, quantum of bookings at city and dealer level, ratio of online and bookings at dealer counters and variant-level production feasibility based on supply chain constraints," the automaker said in a statement. Tata Motors drives in sub-compact SUV Punch starting at Rs 5.49 lakh

Tata Motors on Monday launched its sub-compact SUV 'Punch' in the country, with price starting at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Designed across Tata Motor's studios in India, the UK and Italy, the model has been developed to herald an entirely new category the sub-compact SUV, to address a growing customer need for a small in size but big on space, safety, performance and features. Built on the company's Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture, Punch would sit below Nexon in the company's product line-up. It comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to both manual and automatic transmissions. As per Tata Motors, the manual trims of the model deliver an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 18.97 kmpl while the AMT (automated manual transmission) variants offer 18.82 kmpl to a litre. Hyundai Motor opens bookings for upcoming SUV Alcazar at Rs 25,000

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Wednesday announced the opening of bookings for its upcoming SUV Alcazar which is expected to hit the market later this month. The premium SUV which will come in 6 and 7 seater options can be booked either at the company's dealerships or online with a down payment of Rs 25,000, the company said in a statement. The Alcazar will be available in two engine options of 2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel with choices of six-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions. HMIL Director (Sales, Marketing & Service) Tarun Garg said the company became the highest selling SUV manufacturer in India in 2020, through its range of SUVs such as Creta, Venue, Tucson and Kona Electric.
