Education and health sector will get the highest allocation in the annual budget of the Arvind Kejriwal government for the 2023-24 financial year, officials said on Sunday. In the 2022-23 Delhi Budget, the education sector received the highest allocation of Rs 16,278 crore, a slight decline from the previous fiscal budgetary outlay of Rs 16,377 crore. The health was allocated Rs 9,769 crore in the 2022-23 budget while it was Rs 9,934 crore in the previous budget. Maharashtra's new women's policy would be introduced during the ongoing Budget session of the state legislature, the government said on Wednesday. Women and Child Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha made the announcement in the Legislative Assembly while replying to a debate on the issue. The debate on women's policy had been initiated in the House to mark International Women's Day. The state government will take note of all the suggestions put forth by the MLAs with regard to welfare, security and empowerment of women, Lodha said. The government will also table its performance report on decisions related to women empowerment regularly, he added. The new policy will be practical, he said, adding that a'tourist policy' for women will also be announced. The Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday presented a Rs 3.14 lakh crore Budget for 2023-24 with a provision of Rs 8,000 crore for Mukhkyamantri Ladli Behna Yojna, a new scheme to be rolled out for the welfare women in the state where the Assembly polls are due this year-end. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday presented in the assembly the budget for 2023-24 with an expenditure proposal of Rs 35,022 crore out of the consolidated fund of the state.
