BJP, RSS capturing all institutions in country, says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused the BJP and the RSS of capturing all institutions in the country, and claimed there is "pressure" on the media, Election Commission and the judiciary. He also took a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab and asserted that Punjab should be run from Punjab only, not from Delhi. There is a pressure on all institutions. Press is under pressure, bureaucracy is under pressure, the Election Commission is under pressure, they put pressure on the judiciary, he charged. Oppn needs ideological, political struggle to deal with BJP-RSS, says Karat

CPI(M) Polit Buro member Prakash Karat said that to deal with the BJP and the RSS, opposition parties have to conduct ideological and political struggles continuously. He said that the Left parties may not be a strong force at the national level at present, but it is they who can initiate the ideological fight against the BJP and RSS and make it an alternative platform for other opposition parties. "Apart from making alliances before elections, parties have to conduct ideological and political struggle against the BJP and the RSS continuously," Karat said at a programme here on Tuesday to mark the 57th foundation day of 'Ganashakti', the West Bengal CPI(M)'s mouthpiece. Stating that the RSS and the BJP have managed to pervade a significant section of people in the north and western parts of India, the former CPI(M) general secretary said that because of this, it has managed to comfortably win assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, despite claims of strong anti-incumbency .

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused the RSS/BJP of spreading fear in the country and said they convert this fear into hatred but the Congress will not allow that to happen. Addressing a gathering at the Delhi border as the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Gandhi entered Delhi, he said, "They spread hatred, we spread love and embrace all Indians". "There is Hindustan and 'Mohabbat' (love) in this Bharat Jodo yatra, which does not see any caste, creed, religion, rich or poor and all embrace each other," he told a large gathering here. "RSS/BJP's all policies are to spread fear. They want that everyone should have fear in them and they convert this 'dar' into 'nafrat' (fear into hatred). If there is no 'dar', it will not be converted into 'nafrat'. We say 'daro mat'. We spread Mohabbat. We embrace all Indians," he said. Gandhi alleged that the BJP/RSS has done nothing but spread hatred and the yatra aims to show a different way to India of uniting people through love. "As I had
