Equitas Small Finance Bank on Monday reported over two-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 116 crore in the quarter ended September 2022 on good growth in loan disbursals. The SFB (small finance bank) had posted a net profit of Rs 41 crore in the year-ago period. The net interest income of the lender grew to Rs 610 crore in the July-September period of the current fiscal as against Rs 484 crore in the same period of FY22, Equitas SFB said in a release. The net interest margin during the quarter stood at 9 per cent. The lender said its disbursement during the second quarter of FY23 rose by 22 per cent to Rs 3,845 crore from a year ago. Advances as of Q2FY23 was at Rs 22,779 crore, up 20 per cent from the same quarter a year ago. Lubes maker Castrol India on Monday said its net profit increased marginally to Rs 187 crore for the July-September quarter. The Mumbai-based company had reported a net profit of Rs 186 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,121 crore in the third quarter as against Rs 1,073 crore in the same period of previous financial year, Castrol India said in a statement. The company follows a January-December financial year. Castrol India Managing Director Sandeep Sangwan said the third quarter witnessed forex pressures along with extreme inflationary pressures arising from volatile crude oil prices, leading to rising costs of additives and base oil. Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday reported a 26 per cent rise in consolidated net Profit After Tax (PAT) at Rs 2,819.20 crore for the quarter ended September on the back of higher revenue from operations. The company had posted a consolidated net PAT of Rs 2,231.33 crore in the year-ago period, L&T said in a filing to BSE. The consolidated revenue from operations increased by 22.9 per cent to Rs 42,762.61 crore from Rs 34,772.90 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, the filing added. The company recorded orders worth Rs 51,914 crore at the group level during the July-September period, registering a growth of 23 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Domestic steel giant Tata Steel on Monday reported a nearly 90 per cent drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,297 crore for the July-September quarter of 2023-23, dragged by higher expenses. The company's net profit stood at Rs 12,547.70 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year, Tata Steel said in a BSE filing. Its total income during July-September 2022 stood at Rs 60,206.78 crore as against Rs 60,657.98 crore in the year-ago period. The firm's total expenses rose to Rs 57,684.09 crore from Rs 47,239.63 crore earlier. Homegrown Tata Steel is among the top steel producers in the world.

Auto component maker Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd on Monday reported a 2 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 116.45 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 114 crore in the same period last fiscal, Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd (MSWIL) said in a regulatory filing. Abrasives and industrial ceramics-maker Carborundum Universal Ltd (CUMI) has reported a standalone net profit of Rs 71.75 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2022, the company said on Saturday. The Chennai-based Murugappa Group company registered a standalone net of Rs 62.95 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a press release said. For the six-month period ending September 30, the standalone net profit grew to Rs 144.59 crore from Rs 126 crore a year ago. The standalone total income for the quarter under review rose to Rs 623.76 crore from Rs 565.36 crore. For the half-year ending September 30, the standalone total income increased to Rs 1,242.93 crore from Rs 1,050.50 crore last fiscal, the company said.
