The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has claimed that the documents seized during the nation-wide raids conducted at offices of Popular Front of India (PFI) and its leaders contain highly incriminating materials targeting prominent leaders of a particular community. In a remand report submitted before the NIA special court here seeking custody of 10 people in connection with a case registered here, the agency also alleged that the radical Islamist outfit encouraged youth to join terrorist groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The report, which was submitted on September 22, also claims that the outfit also conspired to establish Islamic rule in India by committing terrorist act as a part of violent jihad. NIA files chargesheet against 11 accused in Rajasthan explosives case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday filed a chargesheet against 11 accused, including 10 residents of Madhya Pradesh, in a case related to the recovery of explosives from a private car in Rajasthan about six months ago, an official said. The chargsheet against the members of Sufa terrorist gang, who had hatched a conspiracy to commit terrorist acts, was filed before a special NIA Court in Jaipur, a spokesperson of the federal agency said. The case was initially registered on April 30 at Nimbaheda Police Station in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan following the recovery of explosives and was later re-registered by the NIA on May 20. "Investigations have revealed that main conspirator in the instant crime, Imran Khan of Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh and other co-accused persons, were members of Sufa terrorist gang and had hatched a conspiracy to commit terrorist acts, the official said. Nearly 100 arrested in NIA raids across 11 states on terror funding charges

As many as 106 activists of the Popular Front of India were arrested on Thursday in early morning raids by multi-agencies led by the National Investigation Agency, covering around 11 states, for allegedly supporting terror activities in the country, officials said. The maximum number of arrests were made in Kerala (22) followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka (20 each), Andhra Pradesh (5), Assam (9), Delhi (3), Madhya Pradesh (4), Puducherry (3), Tamil Nadu (10), Uttar Pradesh (8) and Rajasthan (2). According to the officials, the arrests were made during the raids which have been termed as the "largest-ever investigation process till date". Details of the arrested activists were not available immediately, but officials said the arrests were done by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the police forces of 11 states so far. Amit Shah holds meet to discuss action against PFI, terror suspects

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday held a meeting wherein the ongoing searches at premises linked to the Popular Front of India and action against terror suspects, were believed to have been discussed, officials said. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for any information leading to the arrest of accused Shaheem Ahmed Firoz Ahmed wanted in the case of murder of Amravati pharmacist Umesh Kolhe, an official said. Ahmed (22), a resident of Zakir Colony in Amravati city of Maharashtra, has been on the run since the case was registered two months back. "The NIA has declared a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh for any kind of information leading to the arrest of Ahmed," the official said on Monday. NIA announces Rs 25 lakh reward for information on gangster Dawood Ibrahim

The National Investigation Agency has announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh for any information leading to the arrest of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, a key accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, an official said on Thursday. The probe agency has also announced a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh on Ibrahim's close aide Shakeel Shaikh alias Chhota Shakeel, and Rs 15 lakh each on associates Haji Anees alias Anees Ibrahim Shaikh, Javed Patel alias Javed Chikna and Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razzak Memon alias Tiger Memon, he said. Weapons dropping by Pak drones, NIA searches multiple locations in J-K

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has carried out searches in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with its investigation into dropping of weapons by Pakistani drones along the International Border, an official said. The searches were carried out at eight locations on Thursday in Jammu, Srinagar, Kathua, Samba, and Doda districts in the case related to interception of a drone used for delivery of consignments of arms, ammunition and explosives by a key module of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The TRF operatives were working at the behest of Pakistani handlers, a spokesperson of the federal agency said.
