India qualify for T20 WC semifinals after Netherlands stun South Africa

India qualified for the semifinals of the T20 World Cup after Netherlands knocked South Africa out of the tournament with a stunning 13-run victory in Adelaide. With six points from four games, India are sitting on top of the Group 2 in the Super 12 stage. South Africa finished the tournament with five points from five games. Pakistan and Bangladesh are both on four points each from four games and the ongoing match between the two sides in Adelaide will decide the other semifinalist from Group 2. The winner will move to the six points and overtake South Africa. Earlier in Adelaide, Netherlands posted a decent 158 for 4 and then restricted South Africa to 145 for 8 to register their first win over the Proteas in any format of the game. India will take on Zimbabwe in the last Super 12 match later in the day here. A win will ensure they will finish as Group 2 toppers. If Pakistan also qualify for semifinals, an India-Pakistan title clash will be a possibility.

Tata Steel inks pact with Ford to supply green steel from the Netherlands

Tata Steel has inked an agreement with American carmaker Ford to supply "zeremis green steel" from its Netherlands-based IJmuiden plant after the unit shifts to hydrogen-based steel making. In Europe, Tata Steel is working to switch to low-carbon technologies to manufacture steel in the UK and the Netherlands. The company's both businesses Tata Steel UK and Tata Steel Nederland have been developing detailed plans for transition to low CO2 technologies in line with the company's goal to produce CO2-neutral steel by 2050 in Europe, company's CEO & MD T V Narendran and Executive Director and CFO Koushik Chatterjee earlier said. "Tata Steel Nederland has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ford in Europe to supply the carmaker with Zeremis green steel once the IJmuiden steelworks switches to green hydrogen-based steelmaking," a statement said. Tata Steel on Tuesday said it will invest more than 65 million euros for hydrogen-based steel manufacturing in the Netherlands. Hydrogen has the potential to decarbonise steel manufacturing. Tata Steel has inked pacts with three firms -- McDermott, Danieli and Hatch -- for the further technical preparations for hydrogen-based steel manufacturing in the Dutch city of Ijmuiden. All three companies have their own specific proficiency that is needed together to assist Tata Steel in hydrogen-based steel manufacturing. "The cost for this first development step is in excess of 65 million euros and will result in an engineering package that forms the basis for a final permitting and project planning," the company said in a statement.
