Mcap of 6 of top-10 most valued firms tumble Rs 2 trn; IT firms drag

Six of the top-10 most valued firms suffered a combined erosion of Rs 2,00,280.75 crore from market valuation last week, with IT majors Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys taking the biggest hit, amid weak trend in equities. Last week, the Sensex fell 952.35 points or 1.59 per cent. While Reliance Industries, TCS, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys and HDFC suffered erosion from their valuation, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Adani Transmission and Bajaj Finance were the gainers. The market valuation of TCS tanked Rs 76,346.11 crore to Rs 11,00,880.49 crore. Infosys lost Rs 55,831.53 crore from its valuation which remained at Rs 5,80,312.32 crore. The market capitalisation (mcap) of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 46,852.27 crore to Rs 16,90,865.41 crore and that of Hindustan Unilever fell by Rs 14,015.31 crore to Rs 5,94,058.91 crore. Mcap of seven of top-10 valued firms tumbles over Rs 1.54 trilion

Seven of the top-10 valued firms suffered a combined erosion of Rs 1,54,477.38 crore in market valuation last week, with IT majors Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys emerging as the biggest laggards. Last week, the BSE benchmark index tanked 812.28 points or 1.36 per cent. Reliance Industries Limited, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India were the only gainers in the top-10 pack. The market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) plunged Rs 59,862.08 crore to Rs 11,78,818.29 crore. The valuation of Infosys tanked Rs 31,789.31 crore to Rs 6,40,351.57 crore. HDFC Bank's valuation declined by Rs 16,090.67 crore to Rs 8,13,952.05 crore and that of Hindustan Unilever fell by Rs 14,814.18 crore to Rs 6,04,079.91 crore. Mahindra Lifespace crossed $1 bn m-cap, proved sceptics wrong: CEO

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra on Friday said the market cap of its realty firm Mahindra Lifespace has crossed USD 1 billion, proving sceptics wrong that the company could not survive without transacting in black money. The milestone has vindicated the Group's entry into the real estate sector, he said. Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd is the real estate arm of the Mahindra Group. It is listed on stock exchanges. Shares of Mahindra Lifespace Developers were trading at Rs 519.75 apiece on BSE, up 2.29 per cent at 1128 hrs. The market capitalisation of the company was at Rs 8,032.51 crore. M-cap of five of top 10 firms declines Rs 30,737.51 cr, RIL biggest loser

Five of the top-10 valued firms together lost Rs 30,737.51 crore in market valuation last week, with Reliance Industries Limited taking the biggest hit. In the holiday-shortened week, the Sensex advanced 183.37 points or 0.30 per cent. While Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India and Bajaj Finance were the laggards from the top-10 pack, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) were the gainers.
