Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said the only objective of his administration is to accelerate the economic development of the Union Territory and make it multi-dimensional. He also said that the pace of new industrial schemes had stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now the efforts would be intensified to take it on the ground in the coming days. "We are paying close attention to the business, industry, and tourism sectors affected by Corona and decisions would be taken for their convenience. Work will also be done on a war footing to promote the art and culture of Jammu and Kashmir," Sinha said in his 'awaam ki awaaz' programme, aired on all local and primary channels of All India radio (AIR) stations. J&K LG Sinha e-inaugurates 17 power projects worth over Rs 118 crore

In a major push to strengthen power infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday e-inaugurated 17 power projects worth Rs 118.91 crore. The e-inauguration took place at Delina in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor said the inauguration of new projects is another step towards developing better power distribution and efficient power transmission system in the region. To realise the vision of making Jammu and Kashmir power surplus, Rs 54,000 crore worth power projects have been approved which would generate 3500 megawatt in three to four years, the Lt Governor said. Sinha said determined efforts are being made to reach out to all the unconnected habitations, besides providing 24x7 quality electricity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. New bridges vital to connectivity in far-flung areas: J&K Lt guv

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Border Roads Organisation on Monday for the construction of 10 vital bridges in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh inaugurated on Monday the bridges built in strategically key areas of Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. A majority of these bridges are expected to significantly improve movement of troops in areas along the border with China in Ladakh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh sectors, according to officials.
