Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro on Thursday said it has appointed Ajay S Bhutoria as chief executive for its technology platform L&T NxT. The recently launched initiative L&T NxT is focused on providing solutions in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality, augmented reality, geospatial solutions and cybersecurity to clients in multiple industrial sectors. Before joining L&T-NxT, Bhutoria was the Global Head of Markets for Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel and Hospitality at Cognizant, L&T said in a statement. "I am confident Bhutoria, with his impeccable track record and leadership experience, will lead L&T NxT to make it a globally best-in-class solutions provider for industrial digitalization by leveraging L&T's diverse expertise across engineering domains," JD Patil, Senior Executive Vice President for L&T's Defence Business and L&T-NxT said. L&T's construction arm bags orders worth Rs 23.57 bn in MP, Andhra Pradesh

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Thursday said its construction arm of has won orders worth Rs 2,357 crore in the domestic market. L&T's water and effluent treatment and transportation infrastructure business has secured order worth Rs 1,281 crore from Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), the engineering and construction major said in a regulatory filing . The order is for activities including investigation, design and construction of roads, bridges, storm water drains, culverts, water supply systems, sewerage systems for the villages of Kurugalla, Nidamarru in Zone 12A area at Amravati Capital City, Andhra Pradesh. The company said its water and effluent treatment business has also secured orders worth Rs 1,076 crore from the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Maryadit (MPJNM). Larsen and Toubro (L&T) today said its construction arm has won orders worth Rs 1,585 crore across business segments. "The construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs 1,585 crore across various business segments," the engineering and construction major said in a BSE filing. L&T said its transportation and infrastructure business has bagged an order worth Rs 513 crore from NHAI. While the company's power transmission and distribution business won orders worth Rs 500 crore, its water and effluent treatment business got a work order of Rs 371 crore. Its metallurgical and material handling business received orders worth Rs 201 crore in the area of blast furnace revamp and product business.

Larsen & Toubro launches second offshore patrol vessel for Indian Navy

Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has launched the second offshore patrol vessel (OPV) for the Navy at its greenfield defence shipyard in Kattupalli near Chennai. An OPV is a long-range surface ship with helicopter operation capabilities. Its role includes coastal and offshore patrolling, policing maritime zones of India, control and surveillance, among others. JD Patil, Senior Executive Vice-President and whole- time Director (Defence), L&T said OPV-2 is the ninth defence vessel launched by L&T in the current financial year, as per a company statement. L&T, the first private Indian shipyard to construct and deliver OPVs for the Indian Coast Guard, received a Rs 1,432- crore order for design and construction of seven OPVs from the Ministry of Defence in March 2015. L&T construction arm bags orders worth Rs 4,023 cr across business segments

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said its construction arm has won orders worth Rs 4,023 crore across business segments. "The construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs 4,023 crore," the engineering and construction major said in a BSE filing. L&T said its heavy civil infrastructure business has bagged orders worth Rs 1,906 crore in the domestic market, while its building and factories business received an order worth Rs 830 crore. L&T's water and effluent treatment business and power transmission and distribution business has bagged orders worth Rs 788 crore and Rs 342 crore respectively. Smart world communication business of L&T has won an order worth Rs 157 crore. Shares of the company were trading at Rs 1,239.85 apiece, up 1.91 per cent from the previous close on BSE.

L&T up 3% on order win of Rs 3,551 crore
