Decline in daily Covid cases in Kerala, 42,677 new infections, 601 deaths

Recoveries eclipsed fresh infections as daily COVID-19 cases in Kerala decreased on Thursday with the state recording 42,677 new cases which raised the caseload to 61,72,432. With 50,821 more people recovering from the virus since Wednesday, the total recoveries reached 57,45,912. As the number of recoveries were more than the new COVID-19 cases, the active cases in the state went down to 3,69,073, a government release said. On Wednesday, the number of active cases was 3,77,823. The southern state had reported 52,199 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Kerala on Thursday also reported 601 deaths which raised the total fatalities in Kerala to 56,701, according to a government release. Of the deaths, 36 were reported in the last 24 hours, 124 were those which occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 441 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court

Kerala records 51,887 fresh coronavirus cases, 1,205 fatalities

After dropping below the 50,000 mark for a day, fresh COVID-19 cases in Kerala on Tuesday rose to 51,887 raising the caseload to 60,77,556 in the state. The southern state had reported 42,154 cases a day ago. Kerala on Tuesday also reported 1,205 deaths which raised the total fatalities in the state to 55,600, according to a government release. Of the deaths, 24 were reported in the last 24 hours, 118 were those which occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 1,063 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, the release said. With 40,383 more people recovering from the virus since Sunday, the total recoveries reached 56,53,376. However, as the number of recoveries were less than the new COVID-19 cases, the active cases in the state rose to 3,67,847, the release said. Kerala Housing Finance: Sebi extends time to auction properties to Feb 18

Markets regulator Sebi on Monday said it has extended the time period to auction the properties of Kerala Housing Finance to February 18, in the wake of the ongoing pandemic situation in Kerala. Earlier, the property was scheduled to be auctioned on February 4. In addition, the regulator has extended the last date of submission of the bids to February 15, from January 31, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in a notice. "Considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation existing in the state of Kerala and for the convenience of the proposed bidders for their site visit and submission of bids, it has been decided to extend the last date of submission of the bids and date of e-auction," Sebi said. The regulator will auction properties of Kerala Housing Finance at a reserve price of Rs 1.3 crore in order to recover investors' money. The online auction will take place between 11 am and 12 noon. Kerala logs 55,475 fresh Covid-19 cases, highest ever reported

Kerala reported 55,475 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the highest ever reported from the state in a single day since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, taking the total affected to 57,25,086. On Monday, Kerala recorded 26,514 fresh cases while the previous highest ever in a single day was recorded on January 20- 46,387 cases. The state Health department said 1,12,281 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the COVID-19 dashboard in the website of the Kerala government shows the test positivity rate above 44 per cent. There are 4,42,466 people under observation in the state out of which 10,342 are in isolation wards of various hospitals, the Health department said in a release. "Currently, there are 2,85,365 active COVID-19 cases in the state out of which only 3.8 per cent are hospitalised," the release said.
