Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a meeting of the central region of the Inter State Council here on Monday, officials said. He will arrive in the Madhya Pradesh capital on Sunday night, said state home minister Narottam Mishra. The inter-state council meeting will take place at Kushabhau Thakre Hall (known as Minto Hall earlier). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be attending the meeting, officials added. Shah will later lay the foundation stone of a National Forensic Sciences University and address a seminar before returning to Delhi on Monday night.
The CM said that it is needed to bring the state out of backwardness
The PM's speech at the Inter State Council, however, didn't mention restructuring of discom debts or UDAY, where political support of the states is most needed
Singh said that the NDA govt believes in cooperative and competitive federalism
Since 2006, Centre-state coordination on schemes was primarily through the erstwhile Planning Commission
In the recent past, such meetings were normally held in the Vigyan Bhavan
Convened after a gap of 10 years, the council meeting will see Modi, along with 17 Union ministers interacting with all chief ministers
