Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the achievement of around 40,000 water bodies having been developed under the Mission Amrit Sarovar in the last 11 months, saying the speed at which work is being done in this direction infuses new energy in our resolves of 'Amrit Kaal'. PM reviews operational readiness of armed forces at commanders' conference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reviewed India's security challenges and operational readiness of the armed forces to deal with them at a key conclave of top commanders from the army, navy and air force in Bhopal. An all-time high of 748 districts participated in the prime minister's awards scheme for excellence in public administration, and a record 2,540 nominations were received from them, senior bureaucrat V Srinivas said on Monday. A man tried to run towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's convoy during his roadshow here but was caught by the security personnel on Saturday. However, police denied any security breach in this regard. The video of the man trying to approach Modi's car after apparently slipping through the security barricade has gone viral in the social media. The man, learnt to be from Koppal, has been detained and was questioned, police sources said. The Davangere Superintendent of Police C B Rishyanth ruled out any security breach. "Nothing like that (security breach) happened. He was not even near the Prime Minister. He was caught well before that," Rishyanth told PTI. ADGP Law and Order Alok Kumar tweeted : "As being reported in a section of media, there was no breach in security as such of Hon'ble PM at Davangere today. It was an unsuccessful attempt. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dedicated to the nation the "longest railway platform in the world" at Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station near here. The record has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records recently, officials said, adding that the 1,507 m long platform has been built at a cost of about Rs 20 crore. Modi at an event here, also dedicated the electrification of Hosapete Hubballi Tinaighat section and the upgradation of Hosapete station, for boosting connectivity in the region. Developed at a cost of over Rs 530 crore, the electrification project establishes seamless train operation on electric traction.
