25th annual National HRD conference to begin in Hyderabad from Feb 2

The National Human Resource Development (NHRD) would be holding its 25th annual conference here from February 2-4, with over 1,000 delegates and 110 expert speakers taking part in it. A press release from NHRD said the conference, to be inaugurated by Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao, would bring together HR leaders, experts, and professionals from across the country to explore the theme Decode the Future. We are thrilled to be hosting the 25th NHRD conference and providing HR professionals with an opportunity to decode the future, said Dr Vipul Singh, president of NHRD-Hyderabad chapter. Attendees would get to learn about the latest HR trends, strategies and technologies, and engage in discussions with their peers, said the release.

Ashok Leyland appoints Sanjay V Jorapur as President, Human Resource head

Hinduja group flagship Ashok Leyland has appointed Sanjay V Jorapur as its president and head-human resources, the city-headquartered company said on Tuesday. Jorapur succeeds Amanpreet Singh, who would now move on to a senior role at Hinduja Group in Mumbai. "Sanjay joins a strong leadership team and brings close to three decades of rich experience to Ashok Leyland. People are foundational pillars for us to achieve our vision." Ashok Leyland executive chairman Dheeraj G Hinduja said. Sanjay will drive the 'People' agenda in line with contemporary global practices and steer the company's human resources strategy in the current transformational context, Hinduja said. Jorapur has leadership level experience in technology, engineering and automation domains. He earlier served HFCL Group as its president, group human resources, the statement said.

Paris 2024 organizers say budget likely to increase 'because of inflation'

The operating budget for the 2024 Paris Olympics is expected to go up by 10%, in part because of high inflation, organizers said Tuesday. The organizing committee, known as COJO, had an original operating budget of around 4 billion euros ($4.1 billion) but will present a revised figure at a board meeting next month that is expected to reach 4.4 billion euros ($4.5 billion). Organizers said half the extra money is needed to cover the impact of inflation, while some will go toward additional expenses for the opening ceremony on the Seine river and costs such as human resources and cybersecurity. The overall budget for the Paris Olympics, including the cost of building and renovating venues, is about 8 billion euros ($8.2 billion) and has already gone up from its original estimate. 68% companies believe AI in HR raises overall job accuracy: Report

Around 68 per cent of companies surveyed believe that the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the Human Resource process increases overall job accuracy, according to a report. The report revealed that 72 per cent of respondents agreed that using AI in the HR process boosts productivity and saves time as they believe it can automate many HR-related procedures and boost the effectiveness of the system through chatbots. The report by HR solutions provider Genius Consultants is based on an online survey with over 825 organisations spread across sectors including banking and finance, construction and engineering, education, FMCG, hospitality, HR solutions, IT, ITES and BPO, logistics, manufacturing, media, oil and gas, pharma, among others. It further revealed that over 44 per cent of respondents indicated that AI-based chatbots are currently the preferred tool for initial interactions during the hiring process, which also helps new hires settle into their responsibilities and .
