Eight people were killed and around 15 injured on Friday when a truck rammed into a bus near village Kakkar Majra in this district, police said. The incident took place on the PanchkulaYamunanagar National Highway near village Kakkar Majra, which is around 25 km from here, when the bus from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh was on its way to Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. Three passengers of the bus were getting off at Kakkar Majra when the truck rammed into it, police said. The injured were admitted in civil hospitals at Ambala City and Naraingarh. Most of the occupants in the bus were migrant labourers engaged in construction works, police said. The deceased and injured were pulled out from the bus with the help of passersby. The truck driver has been arrested.
The BJP government in Haryana has ensured equitable development of all assembly constituencies without any discrimination, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Thursday. After inaugurating three projects worth Rs 39.70 crore in Ballabhgarh, he said that because of the government's investment-friendly policies, Haryana is drawing investments, both domestic and foreign. "During the eight years of our government, we have gifted new projects to every assembly constituency of the state without any discrimination," he said. A Haryana court has sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail two executives of a pharmaceutical company, which was recently under the scanner for alleged cough syrup related deaths in Gambia, in another case of export of sub-standard drugs to Vietnam nearly a decade ago. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the 'Prati Boond-Adhik Fasal' scheme started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought focus on increasing water-use efficiency in farming, adding that micro irrigation led to a 52-per cent increase in the state's fruit and vegetable yields. Khattar said various schemes are being run through the Micro Irrigation and Command Area Development Authority (MICADA) for water conservation and its judicious and economical use, according to a statement. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said no fresh tax will be imposed, as he presented the state budget for the financial year 2023-24. Khattar, who also holds the finance portfolio, proposed Rs 1,83,950 crore state budget for the year 2023-24, an increase of 11.6 per cent over the revised estimates of Rs 1,64,808 crore. There is no proposal for imposing any fresh tax in the state budget for 2023-24, said Khattar in the state assembly here. Khattar said it is the fourth budget of the second term of the BJP-JJP government. He said feedback of MLAs and different sections of the society were taken and were incorporated in the budget.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said income was the main criteria for identifying eligible beneficiaries under the state government's ambitious Parivar Pehchan Patra initiative for availing benefits of various welfare schemes. Khattar said all genuine beneficiaries having self-declared annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh would get the benefits of welfare schemes. Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Saturday said the state will soon receive the outstanding amount of Rs 629 crore of GST compensation for June 2022 from the Centre. The approval for the same was given at the 49th GST Council meeting held in New Delhi on Saturday under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chautala was quoted as saying in an official statement. Sitharaman announced at the meeting that the Centre has decided to clear the entire pending balance of GST compensation, amounting to Rs 16,982 crore, for June 2022. Chautala, who is also the convenor of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), shared the information after attending the council meeting.
