Riding high on the launch of the sports edition of its hatchback Figo and compact sedan Aspire, car maker Ford India Pvt Ltd aims to cross one lakh sales figures in 2017.In the first three months (between January and March) of this year, the car maker has sold about 25000 units of cars, a growth of about 25 per cent compared to the same period of last year."Last year, we sold about 92000 cars in India. In the last three months of 2017 we have sold close to 25000 units. We are likely to cross more than a lakh positively. Our leading segment growth is coming from Ecosport coupled with the new launches endeavour, Figo and aspire", said Devarajan C, general manager (service engineering operations) of Ford India ."We are aiming at a double digit growth of around 12 per cent this year. These two new variants is going to be helpful to attract more and more customers . We are expecting that these two new variants will push us easily towards in achieving the target pan India", he added.The ...

US automajor Ford has decided to export made-in-India Ecosport to the North American markets. The move reiterates that the country continues to be a cost competitive for the global OEMs. It may be noted, Ford has facilities in North America, despite that they are importing from India.Speaking to Business Standard on the sidelines of CII's Conference on Automotive R&D Trends, Balasundaram Radhakrishnan, executive director - manufacturing, Ford India Pvt Ltd said that India is going to be a major hub for Ford. Commencement of exports to the US marks a significant milestone in Ford's Make in India journey and boosts India's credentials as a world-class manufacturing hub, said the company. Following ONE Ford, Ford produces EcoSport for more than 100 markets worldwide and manufactures it with quality at six global locations. This milestone is a testament to its continued faith in India's manufacturing prowess and its skilled workforce that is churning out quality products for mature .
