Renew Power adds 300 MW; total capacity addition at 1.5 GW in FY22

Renew Power, which is traded on the Nasdaq exchange, has commissioned a 300 megawatt SECI solar project in Rajasthan, taking its total operating asset to a record 7.4 gigawatt till date. The Gurugram-based company has installed a record 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects so far this fiscal year despite the pandemic challenges and supply chain disruptions and is on track to meet its goal of 8.2 GW of operational capacity by the end of 2021-22. In 2020-21, Renew Power had closed with an operating capacity of 5.6 GW, it said in a statement on Tuesday. The bulk of Renew's organic capacity addition that led it to surge past the 7 GW-mark is in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The new 1.5 GW capacity addition has more than 1.3 GW of utility scale solar projects. These include 1.2 GW in Rajasthan, 105 MW in Gujarat, and 20 MW in Maharashtra. India's rooftop solar addition triples to 1.3 GW in Jan-Sep 2021: Report

India's rooftop solar capacity addition tripled to 1.3 GW during January-September 2021 as compared to the same period a year ago, as per a report. The country added 448 megawatts (MW) of rooftop solar in July-September this year, a 14 per cent drop quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) compared to 521 MW installed in April-June, according to Mercom India Rooftop Solar Market Report Q3 2021. "In the first nine months (9M) of 2021, India added 1.3 GW of rooftop solar, a 202 per cent increase compared to 9M 2020 (January to September). Installations are the highest ever recorded in the 9M of a year," it said. Rooftop solar installations in July-September (Q3) were up 189 per cent year-on-year (YoY). In Q3 2021, 54 per cent of rooftop solar was installed in the residential sector, followed by commercial & industrial, and government sectors, with 44 per cent and 2 per cent, respectively. Adani Green Energy inks pact with SECI to supply 4,667 MW renewable energy

Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has inked a pact with state run Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 4667 MW of green energy. According to a company statement, this is the world's largest ever green power purchase agreement (PPA). "This is yet another step in our journey to enable India's dual objective to accelerate India's renewable energy footprint as well as promote domestic manufacturing under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat programme, said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. Following the proceedings at COP 26, it is increasingly evident that the world has to equitably transition to a low carbon economy faster than previously anticipated, he noted. This is why the Adani Group has committed USD 50-USD 70 billion of investment in the renewables space.
