Pedestrians involved in 22% road crash cases in Himachal Pradesh: Data

Road accidents in Himachal Pradesh have claimed 6,530 lives and left 26,600 people injured in the past six years, with pedestrians being hit in 22 per cent cases and accounting for 15 per cent deaths, according to police data. In the latest accident on Tuesday, a car ploughed into a group of migrant labourers in Solan district, killing five and injuring four. Road accidents per 10,000 vehicles in the hill state was 17.1 per cent as compared to the national average of 15.1 per cent in 2019, while the number of accidental deaths per 10,000 vehicles was seven per cent compared to 5.1 per cent at the national level, the police data stated. 9 policemen killed, 13 injured in blast in Balochistan province of Pakistan

At least nine security personnel were killed and 13 others injured in a suicide attack on them in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province on Monday, police said. The blast near the truck of Balochistan Constabulary personnel occurred on the Kambri bridge on the Quetta-Sibi highway, the Express Tribune newspaper reported. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kachhi, Mehmood Notezai, said that the preliminary evidence suggests it was a suicide attack. However, the exact nature of the blast could be ascertained after investigations. He said that a bomb disposal team reached the site of the incident and the area is being searched after the explosion. Meghalaya post-poll violence: Several injured, one dead, says official

Post-poll violence that erupted in at least three assembly constituencies in Meghalaya left several people injured, while one person was found dead in a mysterious circumstance, officials said on Friday. Several incidents of violence were reported in Mariang constituency in Eastern West Khasi Hills, Shella in East Khasi Hills and Mokaiaw in West Jaintia Hills, where prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC were clamped, they said. A number of vehicles parked in the compound of the deputy commissioner's office in Mairang were set on fire, a senior district official told PTI. Truck rams into bus in Haryana's Ambala, 8 killed, 15 injured: Police

Eight people were killed and around 15 injured on Friday when a truck rammed into a bus near village Kakkar Majra in this district, police said. The incident took place on the PanchkulaYamunanagar National Highway near village Kakkar Majra, which is around 25 km from here, when the bus from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh was on its way to Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. Three passengers of the bus were getting off at Kakkar Majra when the truck rammed into it, police said. The injured were admitted in civil hospitals at Ambala City and Naraingarh. Most of the occupants in the bus were migrant labourers engaged in construction works, police said. The deceased and injured were pulled out from the bus with the help of passersby.
