Black PepperLack of demand from stockists and processors coupled with higher imports from Vietnam and Sri Lanka are expected to keep black pepper prices under pressure. Prices can decline to Rs 69,700 a quintal.Mustard seedMustard seed prices might continue to exhibit a firm trend this week. Seed arrivals have declined to 165,000 bags, from 180,000 bags last week. Demand for mustard oil is expected to remain robust, supporting demand from processors. Low arrivals, amid good crushing demand, might support prices, which are expected to head towards Rs 4,725 a quintal this week.Prerana Desai,V-P (Research), Edelweiss Agri Services and Credit, Edelweiss Agri Value Chain Limited

MaizeMaize in the Gulabbagh (Udaipur, Rajasthan) market are trading at Rs 1,314 a quintal. Prices are expected to trade higher towards Rs 1,350 a quintal in the coming weeks, after tight supplies of overall feed grains and lower rabi maize production in south India. A likely pick up in poultry feed demand from June will also suport the price riseCottonBenchmark cotton S6 is curently quoting at around Rs 17,300 a bale. With a rise in prices in global markets, such as in the US and China, Indian prices are also likely to find support. Despite the current lean season, India remains a net exporter, as the import parity is not very attractive. This makes the demand and supply balance tight before the new season begins in October. Expect spot prices of S6 to rise towards Rs 18,000-18,300 in the next week to 10 days.Prerana Desai,V-P (Research) Edelweiss Agri Services and Credit, Edelweiss Agri Value Chain Limited

Mustard SeedMustard seed spot prices in Jaipur are trading firm near Rs 4,440 a quintal, due to good demand for oil. With positive crushing margins on increasing mustard oil prices, demand from crushers will be good. Analysts expect the rally in mustard seed to continue to Rs 4,550-4,600 a quintal.CottonCotton prices have rallied five-seven per cent after bottoming out in March, with the benchmark S6 in Gujarat (29mm) up at Rs 16,200 per bale. The gain is due to domestic demand and firm global prices. The upside momentum could continue a little longer and prices could rise to Rs 17,000 per bale in the next 10 days. But, the upside is limited, and a sudden collapse in global prices could also pose a risk.Prerana DesaiVP ( research), Edelweiss Agri Services and Credit , Edelweiss Integrated Commodity Management Ltd
