PM to address post-budget webinar on developing tourism in mission mode

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a post-budget webinar on 'Developing Tourism in Mission Mode' on Friday, officials said. It is part of a series of 12 post-budget webinars being organised by the government to seek ideas and suggestions for effective implementation of the initiatives announced in the Union Budget. Prime Minister Modi will address the participants via a video conferencing link. The Union Budget has stated that promotion of tourism will be taken up in mission mode, with active participation of states, convergence of government programmes and public-private partnerships. At least 50 destinations will be selected through challenge mode and developed as a complete package of tourism. Sector specific skilling and entrepreneurship development will be dovetailed to achieve the objectives of the 'Dekho Apna Desh'. Bengaluru govt presents Rs 11,158 cr budget for FY24, gives push to infra

The Metropolitan Bengaluru Municipal Corporation administration on Thursday presented a budget of Rs 11,157.83 crore for the year 2023-24, giving a push to improve infrastructure with focus on easing traffic congestion, building grade separators, white topping of roads and better connectivity. Calling it an 'Atma Nirbhar Budget', the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Special Commissioner (Finance) Jayaram Rayapura said, "While the total receipts will be Rs 11,163.97 crore, the total expenditure will be Rs 11,157.83 crore, thereby resulting in a surplus budget of Rs 6.14 crore." The budget has been presented with a firm belief in the norm, "stretch your legs as much as your bed" and is aimed to bring financial discipline, self-reliance and self-sufficiency in the BBMP's finances, he said. The Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday presented a Rs 3.14 lakh crore state budget for 2023-24, even as the Opposition Congress staged a walkout from the Assembly on the issue of hike in the LPG cylinder price. Congress members including former ministers Tarun Bhanot, Vijay Laxmi Sadho and Jitu Patwari created ruckus in the House over the LPG price hike issue the moment state Finance Minister Jagdish Devda started reading out the budget proposals. The Gujarat government on Friday presented a Rs 3.01 lakh crore budget with no new taxes imposed on people. Gujarat Finance Minister Kanu Desai presented the budgetary outlay for fiscal 2023-24 in the state Assembly here. Rs 27 cr allotted for promotion of millets in Haryana budget FY24: Khattar

A project of Rs 27 crore is being prepared to promote the cultivation of millets, said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while presenting the state budget for 2023-24. The state government has also set a target of 20,000 acres of land for the adoption of natural farming in the state, said Khattar in the state assembly here. MCD passes schedule of taxes in civic budget 2023-24, says official

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi passed the "schedule of taxes" in the civic budget 2023-24 on Wednesday, a senior official said. The unprecedented move comes as Delhi is still to get a mayor, despite three attempts to hold the mayoral election. "The Corporation passed the schedule of taxes (in civic budget 2023-24) today," the official said. It was passed by the special officer of the MCD. The taxes, rates and cesses leviable in the year 2023-24 will remain the same that are prevalent as on today, the MCD said in a statement. The municipal commissioner had presented the MCD budget in December which included the revised budget estimate for 2022-23 and budget estimate for 2023-24, an official source had said. Mizoram CM presents Rs 14,209 cr zero-deficit budget; no new tax proposals

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Monday presented in the assembly a zero-deficit and non-surplus annual budget for the financial year 2023-24 with a total outlay of Rs 14,209.95 crore. There was no proposal for levying new taxes or hiking the existing tax rates. The chief minister also tabled supplementary demands for the current fiscal (2022-2023) amounting to Rs 3,265.69 crore. The total budget outlay was Rs 14,008 crore in the last financial year. Zoramthanga, who also holds the finance portfolio, said that emphasis was laid on the Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP) and Rs 595 crore was allocated to it for the 2023-24 fiscal. Rajasthan Budget: CM announces inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced an inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore in the state's Budget for 2023-24 to provide relief to the masses from rising prices. The package includes free food packets every month to poor families, LPG cylinders for Rs 500 under the Ujjwala Scheme and free electricity up to 100 units per month to domestic consumers.
