Toyota Kirloskar forays into CNG segment; introduces 2 new models

Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Wednesday announced its foray into the CNG segment with the launch of Glanza and Urban Cruiser Hyryder trims with the environment-friendly powertrain. The two CNG trims of Glanza are priced at Rs 8.43 lakh and Rs 9.46 lakh respectively. The company, however, did not disclose the price of Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG variants. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Associate Vice President, Sales, and Strategic Marketing, Atul Sood said that being a customer centric company, the automaker believes in placing customers' interest at the forefront. Hero MotoCorp partners with Terrafirma Motors to enter Philippines

Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday announced its plans to enter the Philippines for which it has partnered with Terrafirma Motors Corporation for assembly and distribution of its vehicles. A part of the Columbian Group of Companies, Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC) will be the exclusive assembler and distributor of Hero MotoCorp motorcycles in the Philippines, the company said in a regulatory filing. TMC will set up an assembly facility of 29,000 square metres in its existing principal manufacturing facility situated in Laguna City and will start its operations in the second half of fiscal year 2024, it added. "In keeping with our R4 (recalibrate, revitalise, revolutionise and revive) strategy, we are always keenly exploring new opportunities in global markets. Automobile dealer expect transparency, fair policy from manufacturers: FADA

Automobile dealers continue to expect higher transparency regarding their viability and a fair business policy from vehicle manufacturers, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations said on Friday. Among the major expectations of dealers from vehicle manufacturers are their involvement in the policy-making of the automotive companies and openness to direct inputs, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said while releasing its Dealer Satisfaction Study 2022. "While we welcome the efforts shown by OEMs in improving key issues related to sales, delivery and after-sales, dealers continue to expect higher transparency in matters related to Dealership viability and a fair and balanced business policy," FADA President, Manish Raj Singhania said in a statement. M&M reports over 200% surge in total sales at 53,726 units in May

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Wednesday said its total sales stood at 53,726 units in May. The company had reported total sales of 17,447 units in Covid-hit May 2021. The Mumbai-based auto major's passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market were 26,904 units last month while the same stood at 8,004 units a year ago, the auto major said in a statement. Commercial vehicle sales of 24,794 units were posted in the month under review, while it was at 7,508 units in the year-ago period. The company said its exports were reported at 2,028 units in May. The overseas shipments were at 1,935 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. "With sales of 26,632 SUVs in May, we continued the growth momentum with all our brands performing well, including XUV700 and Thar," M&M President (Automotive Division) Veejay Nakra said.
