Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India posts 395,037 unit domestic sales for Mar

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Thursday reported domestic sales of3,95,037 units in March this year. The company had sold 245,716 units in the same month last year when sales were impacted by coronavirus-induced lockdown. Exports stood at 16,000 last month, HMSI said in a statement. The company said it closed FY21 with total sales of 4,073,182 two-wheelers, including domestic sales of 38,65,872 units and exports of 2,07,310 units. HMSI Director (Sales and Marketing) Yadvinder Singh Guleria said, "FY2020-21 was a year of unprecedented uncertainties. Honda resiliently overcame challenges from lockdowns to unlocks.

Hero MotoCorp reports 1.45% increase in total sales in February

The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported a 1.45 per cent increase in total sales at 5,05,467 units in February. The company had sold 4,98,242 units in the same month of the previous year, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement. Total motorcycle sales stood at 4,63,723 units last month as against 4,79,310 units in February 2020, down 3.25 per cent. Total scooter sales, however, increased over two fold to 41,744 units as compared with 18,932 units in the year-ago month, it added. In the domestic market, sales rose marginally to 4,84,433 units last month as compared with 4,80,196 units in the same period a year ago. Exports last month stood at 21,034 units as compared with 18,046 units in the year-ago period. "The growth in sales despite the ongoing challenges on account of supply chain issues that the industry is facing has been possible due to the state of preparedness and quick countermeasures taken by the company," the company said. Maruti Suzuki pre-owned car unit True Value crosses 400,000 unit sales

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Thursday said its pre-owned car unit True Value has crossed 40 lakh sales milestone. True Value celebrates the sales of 4 million pre-owned cars from a network of independent outlets across the country, MSI said in a statement In line with market trends, the automaker had upgraded its True Value outlets in 2017, offering a seamless amalgamation of online to offline car buying experience. "The pre-owned car market in India is highly unorganised and there are very few players providing safe, reliable and transparent buying and selling experience to buyers. "True Value was set up to overcome these issues and ensure that buyers of the pre-owned car get the same experience as new car buyers," MSI Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Srivastava said. Mahindra & Mahindra total sales dip 25% to 39,149 units in January

Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Monday reported 25.49 per cent decline in total sales at 39,149 units in January. The company had sold 52,546 units in the same month last year, M&M said in a statement. In the domestic market, passenger vehicle sales were up 4 per cent to 20,634 units last month, compared to 19,797 units in January 2020. Exports increased by 30 per cent to 2,286 units in the month under review, as against 1,761 units in the year-ago month. In the commercial vehicles segment, the company sold 16,229 vehicles as against 30,988 units earlier, a dip of 47.62 per cent. "We have witnessed a growth of 5 per cent in utility vehicles for the month of January. We have also seen strong bookings fueled by continued demand," M&M Automotive Division CEO Veejay Nakra said. Ashok Leyland's auto sales jump 11% to 13,126 units in January

Hinduja group flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Monday reported an 11 per cent increase in total vehicles sales at 13,126 units in January. The company had sold 11,850 units in the corresponding month a year ago, Ashok Leyland said in a regulatory filing. Total domestic vehicles sales stood at 12,359 units in January against 10,850 units in the year-ago period, registering an increase of 14 per cent. Medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) sales in the domestic market were down 2 per cent at 6,839 units last month as compared with 6,949 units in the year-ago month, it added. Light commercial vehicle sales in the domestic last month stood at 5,520 units as compared with 3,901 units in January 2020, up 42 per cent, the company said.
