Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday said his group will be investing in Andhra Pradesh to set up a 10 gigawatt renewable solar energy project. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday said the state has received investment proposals worth Rs 13 lakh crore with an employment opportunity for six lakh people. Speaking at the inaugural session of the Global Investors Summit 2023 being held here, Jagan Mohan Reddy said the investment proposals are from Reliance, Adani Group, Aditya Birla group, Renew power, NTPC and Aurobindo Group among others. He reiterated that Visakhapatnam would become the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh in the days to come and he will be moving over to the port city. "It is a proud moment to announce that the state has received 340 investment proposals with an investment of about Rs 13 lakh crore providing employment to almost six lakh people across 20 sectors," he said. The GMR Group which is in the process of developing an international airport at Bhogapuram near here will be investing Rs 5,000 crore on the aerodrome in the first phase. Speaking at the inaugural session of the Global Investors Summit 2023 being held here, GM Rao, chairman of GMR Group said the first phase of the airport will be developed to serve six million passengers per annum. "We will be developing Bhogapuram Airport with the first phase serving six million passengers and an ultimate capacity of 40 million passenger (per annum). The first phase investment will be to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore," Rao said. Adani group will set up two new cement manufacturing plants, 15,000 MW of renewable power projects and a data centre in Andhra Pradesh as it looks to double down on its presence in the state, Karan Adani, founder family's scion, said on Friday. The company has declared holiday for a month to around 1,600 workers of the Jinkalamitta plant in Tirupati district, and directed them to return to their respective hometowns, an official said on Tuesday. The accident occurred on Monday. However, there was no loss of life, police said. They (Management) declared holidays for employees for 30 days, said Renigunta deputy superintendent of police (DSP) A. Ramachandra, who is monitoring the situation at the plant. Examining the mishap, he indicated that 30 days may not be enough. Triveni Glass Ltd will invest Rs 1,000 crore to set up a 840 metric tonnes per day capacity solar glass manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh, the government said on Monday. The glassmaker will set up the plant at Pangidi in East Godavari district, which will create 2,000 jobs. Triveni Glass managing director Varun Gupta met Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today and deliberated on investments in the southern state, which is on the cusp of holding Global Investors' Summit in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4, an official statement said. Reddy promised full cooperation to Triveni Glass and told Gupta that the State offers good human resources and other facilities, it said.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for JSW Group's proposed steel plant at Sunnapurallapalle village in YSR Kadapa district. In the first phase, JSW steel will invest Rs 3,300 crore in the proposed plant and one million tonnes of steel per annum will be produced during the first year. The facility will be upgraded to two million tonnes per year in the second phase and will eventually reach three million tonnes capacity per annum. The total investment for all the three phases would be Rs 8800 crore, AP CM noted. Once the steel plant is set up, there will be an ecosystem developed with several ancillary units. Once the ecosystem is created, then the entire area would be transformed into a Steel City, Jagan said after laying the foundation stone. Public sector power generator NTPC is to set up a New Energy Park at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh to produce products out of green hydrogen, green ammonia and green methanol at a cost of Rs 1,10,000 crore in two phases. An official release on Tuesday said the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) cleared a series of investment proposals to establish several heavy industries in the State.
