To be held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), the parade of the 74 regular recruits of the Indian Police Service (IPS), said an official release. A total 195 officer-trainees, including 29 officer trainees from foreign countries, is taking part in the Dikshant Parade, said SVPNPA director A S Rajan. Among the foreigners, six are from Bhutan, eight from Maldives, five from Nepal and 10 from Mauritius. Home Minister Amit Shah assured a delegation of BJP leaders from Sikkim on Sunday that the finance and home ministries will file a review plea before the Supreme Court to seek clarity on the term "Sikkimese" in line with constitutional provisions, official sources said. The assurance from Shah came amid protests in Sikkim over the Supreme Court observation referring to Sikkimese Nepalis as "immigrants" while extending income tax exemption to all old settlers of the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday visited the Thakur Anukul Chandra Ashram in Jharkhand's Deoghar district. Shah visited the ashram in Deoghar and stayed there for 20 minutes, an ashram official said. "Had the good fortune to visit Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra Ji's Satsang Ashram in Deoghar today. The convention is being held at Puttur in connection with the golden jubilee celebrations of the central arecanut and cocoa marketing and processing co-operative limited (CAMPCO). Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to address a series of rallies in Tripura on February 6 and 12 in his first political tour of the northeastern state after its assembly poll schedule was announced by the Election Commission. The BJP-ruled state is scheduled to vote for its 60-member assembly on February 16. Two other northeastern states, Nagaland and Meghalaya, will go to polls on February 27. The counting of votes for all three states is on March 2. Shah will also be holding public meetings in Nagaland and Meghalaya, and the schedule is being finalised, party sources said.
