The survey made a mention of the interstate disparity in teledensity, where rural areas trailed urban locations in the telecom penetration, but added in the same breath that the catch-up by the rural .
Reliance Jio on Tuesday announced the roll out of its 5G services across 50 cities, terming it the largest-ever launch of these services. According to Jio statement, these cities are spread across Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Puducherry, and Kerala. Telecom operator Reliance Jio on Monday announced the launch of its 5G services in 10 more cities. These include Agra, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Tirupati, Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), Kozhikode, Thrissur (Kerala), Nagpur, Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), according to a Jio statement. Jio users in these cities will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer to experience unlimited data at up to 1 Gbps-plus speeds, at no additional cost, starting Monday. Private telecom company Reliance Jio launched 5G internet service in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur on Saturday. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot formally launched Jio's 5G internet services in these cities. Digital services company Jio Platforms on Thursday said it has signed an agreement with SOA University to set up a 5G lab in Bhubaneswar. The proposed lab will help in meeting the growing requirements of research and training in the latest 5G standards, including 5G standalone (SA), Jio Platforms said in a statement. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) also includes facilitation for the development of use-cases on the 5G platform as well as other associated technology domains such as Beyond 5G (B5G) and optical fiber, it added. Jio Platforms is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL).
