The headline equity indices were trading with minor gains in early trade. The Nifty traded near the 17,200 level. Media, pharma and healthcare stocks advanced while realty, auto and PSU bank shares declined.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports and a step-down subsidiary of GMR Airports Infrastructure (formerly known as GMR Infrastructure (GIL)), announced that it had on 13 March 2023 successfully raised funds through the issuance of 10 year Listed, Rated, Redeemable, Secured Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) amounting Rs 840 crore, on private placement basis.

At the close of trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index declined 90.50 points, or 0.28%, to 31,819.14. The S&P500 index dropped 5.83 points, or 0.15%, to 3,855.76. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index increased 49.96 points, or 0.45%, to 11,188.84.

Meanwhile, buying sentiments underpinned further amid a bullish view on earnings among Chinese tech leaders, overshadowing concerns about a wider fallout among Chinese biotech companies including BeiGene from the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. 


Hong Kong Hang Seng rebounds 2%


At close of trade, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 1.2%, or 38.62 points, to 3,268.70. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.44%, or 9.25 points, to 2,096.42. The blue-chip CSI300 index advanced 1.05%, or 41.55 points, to 4,008.69.

At closing bell, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index declined 35.84 points, or 0.5%, to 7,108.85. The broader All Ordinaries index dropped 37.20 points, or 0.51%, to 7,311.02.
