The Indian team showed thorough professional behaviour as it thrashed the host Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the first match of the three-match ODI series at the Harare Sports Club. 

After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, India restricted Zimbabwe to only 189 in 40.3 overs. It could have been far less if not for a 70-run stand for the ninth wicket between Bradley Evans and Richard Ngarava. 

Deepak Chahar, Axar Patel and Prasidh Krishna took three wickets each while skipper Regis Chakanbavva top scored for Zimbabwe with 35. 

With the bat, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill were just flawless. Especially Gill was in a mood as she scored quickly and even after Dhawan was dropped once and scored slower than usual, the young turk made sure that India finished the game in only 30.5 overs. Gill remained unbeaten on 82 off 72 balls, while Dhawan scored 81* from 113 balls.

ZIM vs IND 1st ODI Player of the Match: Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar has been named as the player of the match in the first DOi here at the Harare Sports Club. He was brilliant with the ball in his comeback match as he picked three top-order wickets and broke the back of the Zimbabwean batting. Chahar gave away only 27 runs in his seven overs to pick those three wickets.
