MI vs SRH Highlights
Bhuvneshwar Kumar's maiden wicket over in the 19th and Umran Malik's figures of 3-23 helped Sunrisers Hyderabad win the game by just three runs even as Tim David almost stole it with his brilliant hitting in the 18th over where he hit 16 off just five balls before getting run out on the sixth in an attempt to keep strike with himself.
Chasing a tough target of 194, Mumbai got off to a very good start as the openers added 95 for the first wicket in only 63 balls. But then Mumbai lost wickets in bundles as Umran hurried the batters with his pace.
From 95-0, Mumbai were all of a sudden 144-5, needing 50 off the last 20 balls. It was then that Tim David showed his finishing skills and almost won the game before the fateful run out that Natarajan managed to pull off after being hit for four sixes in the over.
Earlier in the evening after being asked to bat first, Pariyam Garg, the new man in the side, scored a brilliant 46 off 26 and along with Rahul Tripathi, who made 76 off 44 balls, added 78 for the second wicket in just 43 balls to provide the much-needed momentum to his side. Sunrisers slowed down in the last four overs as they lost four wickets and scored only 29 runs in them, eventually finishing at 193/6 in 20 overs.
With this victory, the Sunrisers have kept themselves in the Playoff race but only mathematically as they would need a huge win to turn the tables and would also require Delhi Capitals and RCB to lose their games.
MI vs SRH Player of the Match: Rahul Tripathi
Rahul Tripathi was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant 76 off just 44 balls as the propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to such a big total that they were eventually able to defend. In his knock, the right-hander hit nine fours and three sixes.
