Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 1.77%

Nifty Metal index ended up 1.77% at 5902.7 today. The index has added 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd fell 4.79%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd gained 4.14% and Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd rose 3.49%. The Nifty Metal index has increased 9.00% over last one year compared to the 5.54% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index increased 1.46% and Nifty Commodities index added 1.10% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.21% to close at 17558.9 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.10% to close at 58833.87 today.
