Motorcycle sales dipped by 6.7% to 124,705 units in Dec 2022; iQube electric sales provide silver lining, rise 10-fold YoY

TVS Motor Company on Thursday said its sales increased by 2 per cent to 2,77,123 units in November. The company had dispatched 2,72,693 units in the year-ago period. The domestic two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 9 per cent increasing to 1,91,730 units last month as against 1,75,940 units previous year. The company said its total exports stood at 84,134 units last month as compared with 96,000 units in the same month last year.

TVS Motor Company on Thursday reported a 15 per cent growth in total sales at 3,33,787 units for August 2022. The company had sold 2,90,694 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Co said in a statement. The total two-wheelers sales grew by 15 per cent last month to 3,15,539 units compared to 2,74,313 units in August 2021. Domestic two-wheeler sales were 2,39,325 units against 1,79,999 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 33 per cent. Motorcycle sales grew by 17 per cent to 1,57,118 units compared to 1,33,789 units in August 2021. Scooters sales rose 40 per cent to 1,21,866 units in August 2022 from 87,059 units a year ago. The company said three-wheeler sales last month stood at 18,248 units compared to 16,381 units in the year-ago period, up 11 per cent. The total exports of vehicles slipped to 93,111 units in August 2022 from 1,09,927 units in August 2021. TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 13 per cent increase in total sales at 3,14,639 units in July. The company had posted a total sales of 2,78,855 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Total two-wheelers sales were up 14 per cent at 2,99,658 units last month, as against sales of 2,62,728 units in July 2021, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 2,01,942 units as compared to 1,75,169 units in the year-ago month, up 15 per cent, the company said. "The company has invested in strategic relationships and action plans for the supply of semiconductors and the efforts are yielding results with improvements seen this month as well," it said.
