Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Wednesday said taxi and auto drivers are continuously benefitting from the policies of the Delhi government. Addressing the drivers of kali-peeli cabs, the minister assured them that he would meet them on a regular basis to understand and address their issues. "Taxi and auto drivers in Delhi are continuously benefitting from the policies of the Delhi government with each driver saving more than Rs 7,000," he said. Various charges, including penalties, levied on autos and taxis were revised in 2019 by the government. The Delhi government had recently increased auto and taxi fares. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nalsoft for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation. TSRTC is the first among all the State Road Transport Corporation undertakings in the country to commission and implement it, a release from TSRTC said. The MoU was signed on Monday and exchanged between TSRTC and Nalsoft at Bus Bhavan here by TSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director V C Sajjanar and CA Venkata Nalluri, CEO of Nalsoft. The TSRTC has a fleet of over 10,000, and 47,528 employees (of which 37,000 are drivers and conductors, and the rest mechanics), who are managed by 200 officers. It has 99 depots, 364 bus stations, 3,000 routes, managing about 45 lakh passengers (30 lakh fare paying and 15 lakh bus pass-holders), and covering 32 lakh km each day, it said. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday said it has arrested two district food and civil supplies controllers (DFSCs) in connection with the alleged foodgrain transportation tender scam. The Vigilance Bureau had recently said it has filed a charge sheet before a court in Ludhiana against former cabinet minister and Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu and two others in the alleged foodgrain transportation tenders scam. During investigation, the VB arrested Sukhwinder Singh Gill, then DFSC Ludhiana West and Harveen Kaur then DFSC Ludhiana East. Hundreds of Delhi Metro commuters faced a harrowing time on a busy Monday morning as a technical snag in a train between Sultanpur and Ghitorni stations led to a chaos at several stations. The Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro connects Samyapur Badli in Delhi to HUDA City Centre in Gurugram. Several people were stranded between 7 am and 10 am as services were not available between Sultanpur and Ghitorni due to a "technical issue" in a train, official sources said.
