After introducing nano liquid urea, cooperative IFFCO aims to launch nano DAP fertiliser in the market soon at Rs 600 per 500 ml bottle -- a move that will help India save foreign exchange and also reduce government subsidy significantly. IFFCO is also planning to launch nano-potash, nano-zinc and nano-copper fertilisers, its Managing Director U S Awasthi said while addressing an agriculture conference organised by digital media platform Rural Voice. In June 2021, cooperative IFFCO launched nano urea in liquid form as an alternative to conventional urea. It has also set up manufacturing plants to produce nano urea. Awasthi said IFFCO has produced 5 crore bottles of nano urea so far, out of which 4.85 crore bottles have already been sold. He highlighted that the price of nano urea is less than conventional urea and it is also more effective and convenient. There is no government subsidy on nano urea and it is being sold at Rs 240 per bottle. For conventional urea, the government ...
The United States and European Union agreed Monday to intensify talks to resolve EU concerns over major subsidies for American companies contained in a US clean energy law. Although no deal was reached at a meeting of the bilateral Trade and Technology Council, the two sides pledged to continue work on preliminary progress and said they would push for a solution that benefits both US and European firms, workers and consumers as well as the climate. We acknowledge the EU's concerns and underline our commitment to address them constructively, the two sides said in a joint statement after the meeting at the University of Maryland in College Park, located just outside Washington. We underline the TTC's role in achieving this and in supporting a successful and mutually supportive green transition with strong, secure, and diverse supply chains that benefit businesses, workers, and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic, it said. The dispute revolves around the US Inflation Reduction Act
Nearly 30 per cent of the electricity consumers and subsidy beneficiaries are yet to apply for the power subsidy even as the last date of application, October 31, inches closer, government officials said on Friday. According to officials, over 33 lakh electricity consumers have so far applied for the power subsidy in the national capital. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had last month announced October 31 as the deadline to apply for power subsidy for the month. He had said that those who do not apply for the subsidy will have to pay their non-subsidised bills but can apply next month. There are 58 lakh domestic power consumers in Delhi, of whom 47 lakh avail the subsidy. Officials said that 33,14,488 lakh electricity consumers have applied for power subsidy, while the remaining 13.85 lakh consumers are yet to do it. This means that around 29.47 per cent of the electricity consumers availing subsidy, are yet to apply for it. The last date is October 31, a government official
The Railways had to write off Rs 71.86 crore it spent as excess subsidy on Kisan Rail Services last fiscal, after the Ministry of Food Processing Industries refused to bear the additional cost citing a Rs 50-crore ceiling for the initiative, documents show. According to official data, the Railways spent Rs 121.86 crore as subsidy under the scheme which is more than double the amount of Rs 50 crore sanctioned in 2021-22 by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) for the pro-farmer initiative. The national transporter was forced to "write off" the excess expenditure of Rs 71.86 crore after the MoFPI -- the nodal ministry for implementing the 'Operation Greens - TOP to total' scheme under which Kisan Rails operate -- deciding not to reimburse the outstanding amount. Under the scheme, a 50 per cent subsidy is offered directly to farmers and traders on railway transportation charges for fruits and vegetables. A ceiling of Rs 50 crore was set by the MoFPI as subsidy for the las
The Union Territory of Ladakh has announced a new electric vehicle policy with subsidies to encourage the citizens to procure e-vehicles in order to create a carbon-neutral future, an official spokesman said on Saturday. Ladakh's Electric Vehicle and Allied Infrastructure Policy aims to transform the UT into a torch bearer in terms of the adoption of electric vehicles in the country and envisions to encourage and cultivate an EV ecosystem, the spokesman said. He said the policy entails a capital subsidy of 10 per cent on two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. To encourage sustainable and eco-friendly public transport, public buses will be given a capital subsidy of 25 per cent under the policy, the spokesman said. With a view to encouraging this shift to electric vehicles, he said the administration has offered an early bird subsidy for the first year of the policy. During the first year, the percentage of the subsidy for each type of vehicle would be double of the norma
