Former minority affairs minister and senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday hailed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remarks on Muslims and said the spirit of partnership and not the battle to dominate leads to the path of development. Naqvi's assertion came after Bhagwat said Muslims have nothing to fear in India, but they must abandon their "boisterous rhetoric of supremacy". In an interview to Organiser and Panchjanya, Bhagwat said, "The simple truth is this, Hindusthan should remain Hindusthan. There is no harm to the Muslims living today in Bharat... Islam has nothing to fear. But at the same time, Muslims must abandon their boisterous rhetoric of supremacy." "We are of an exalted race; we once ruled over this land, and shall rule it again; only our path is right, rest everyone is wrong; we are different, therefore we will continue to be so; we cannot live together; they (Muslims) must abandon this narrative. In fact, all those who live here whether a Hindu or a communist .
Former Union cabinet minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday said that India today has become the flagbearer of inclusive empowerment having crushed the "curse of communalism." "The Modi-Yogi era has made Amar, Abdul, Antony an equal partner of prosperity by locking out and blocking the cartel of champions of castes and communities," Naqvi said. He added that for decades Muslims are being "chewed like chewing gum" for votes and then left to fend for themselves. Addressing the Minorities Rights Day programme, organised by the Uttar Pradesh Minorities Commission here, the senior BJP leader said that crooked politicians in the past worked according to a "cruel, communal, and criminal conspiracy" against the minorities to hijack their socio-economic and educational empowerment. In a statement issued here, Naqvi said that the "treacherous traders of votes" are responsible for economic, educational, and social backwardness of some sections of the Muslim community. Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday batted for the 'one nation, one voter list', saying that there is a need for paramount and path-breaking reforms in the electoral process of the country. The former minority affairs minister was addressing a conference at an event organised here to celebrate the birth anniversary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. "Different voter lists for elections to Panchayat, Municipal Corporation, Municipality, Vidhan Sabha, Lok Sabha and other elections not only create confusion but also raise questions on the credibility of the voter lists. 'one nation, one voter list' and 'one nation, one voter card' can help to solve this problem," he said. Naqvi said many significant electoral reforms took place in the year 2000 during the tenure of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee including the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), ban on contesting from more than two places, limit on election expenditu
Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday said that the CBI and the ED were no more a "caged parrot" but have now become a "jewels of law" which are performing their duties fairly without any bias. Speaking to reporters in Moradabad and Rampur, Naqvi slammed the opposition parties for accusing the government of misusing the probe agencies to target them. He said those raising such questions are themselves in dock for committing "wrong deeds." These "champions of corruption" are in trouble today that is why they are levelling baseless and unsubstantiated statements against the agencies, Naqvi said. He also parried criticism of the Uttar Pradesh government over its decision to survey madrassas and waqf properties, saying its critics are raising a "bogey of fear and fallacy" only for emotional exploitation of people. "Everyone's constitutional rights are absolutely safe and secure. "Some organisations like PFI are involved in a criminal and communal .
Former Union minister and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday said 'One Nation, One Election' is the need of the hour and that political parties should not have a "prejudiced mindset" on the issue. In an interaction with journalists, he pitched for holding simultaneous elections, an idea often pushed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said political parties should move forward towards this important electoral reform. Political parties need to give priority to national interests over political interests so that this "significant and path-breaking" electoral reform takes place, Naqvi said. Most opposition parties have protested against the idea of holding Lok Sabha and various state assembly polls simultaneously in the country. With one or other election being held at regular intervals, all political parties remain "election machines all the time". This also causes wastage of public money and hampers development work. People, too, become unenthusiastic towards this "festiv
