ITC Infotech on Thursday said it has paid an amount of USD 33 million (around Rs 256 crore) to PTC as part of an agreement to acquire a substantial portion of the American company's product services

Last month, ITC Infotech said it would be acquiring a part of PTC's product lifecycle management (PLM) implementation services business and create a new business unit, DxP Services

Though ITC is well-covered by consensus, whether it is well-understood has always remained a question, analysts believe

ITC chairman Sanjiv Puri doesn't rule out listing infotech business and said the board is open to creating value for non-cigarettes FMCG business

The company is also helping employees scout for hospital beds, access medicines and arrange for plasma & oxygen cylinders pan-India, including remote areas

Industry observers said the high level of virtualisation across most sectors has led to increased demand for various IT services.

ITC Infotech has also started the process of setting up its first software development centre at Rajarhat, Kolkata
